Browsing through Friday transcript.

Here's part of the second gag-order hearing. Blanche is speaking as we
begin. Classic on so many levels.

Found the full Committee testimony of Cohen. My day is rapidly descending into a sea of transcripts and videos. IOW, a day that ends in Y.

Keith Davidson testifies that Cohen called him up in Dec 2016 despondent because fuckhead wasn't going to to him to DC (or make him AG). The "after everything I've done for him" call). Davidson says Cohen was so far down that he was worried he would commit suicide.

In his testimony to the House Oversight Committee in summer 2019, post indictment and sentencing, Cohen states that he never wanted to go to DC, with significant elaboration.

I just finished watching Lawrence O'Donnell's Friday show. Boy, he had some powerful opening and his thoughts about Hope Hicks and the choices she made over the years.

Hope he sticks to it, though I think Trump actually wants it to happen so he can further incite his cultists.

As an aside, I can’t even remember the last time I saw legal-sized paper with the red-lined margins.

That's (foolscap-sized paper) weird. I wonder if it's a criminal courts thing.

We had to submit our Appellate Briefs in the Coast Guard on that. I had some on order but we ran out before the procurement guy was able to get me any, so I submitted it on regular paper. The Clerk brought it back to me and told me to do it over. I asked her where in our rules of practice and procedure did it specify red-lined paper, and she was like, seriously? This is the hill you want to die on? Do it over. So in violation of the Anti-deficiency Act, I went to Staples and bought some out of my own pocket. I counted every single page I used, then replaced it with when our supply order showed up.

Despite all the excited commentary on MSNBC and CNN, without Weisselberg's testimony there is no way to convict Trump without Michael Cohen testifying that Trump knew or was the architect of the scheme for the $420,000 repayment -- and Cohen being believed. That Trump was a micromanager, that nothing got done without Trump knowing, is just quite not enough, in my opinion, to prove beyond a reasonable doubt that Trump knew of this scheme. Without Weisselberg, Cohen is also the only one who can testify that there was no retainer agreement.

At this point I don't see 12 jurors (who are not Trump's "peers" but neighbors of the vicinage where the crime occurred) voting to convict Trump. There will be at least one holdout.

I wish it were otherwise.

Waaaaaay back in the day we had to submit our appeal transcripts on it. Was certainly glad when we could move to standard-sized paper and even when we could finally use a copy machine for the copies rather than having to use carbon copies. Making a typing error with 3 copies with carbon paper in between was a real bitch. It took forever in my bailiwick to change to using a copy machine (which weren't all that common at the time) as the rules clearly stated "carbon copies." :biggrin:

I thought her help/hurt was about even.

I have read comments from credible sources, mostly attorneys, that go both ways, she helped him/she sunk him. :shrug:

The Controller is testifying. They were sending checks from the Trump Org to the white house to have them signed by Donald Trump. He signed all of them. One time they lost a check during the process.

BUT... But... but... those were his private retainers for his attorney Cohen.

:think: except one wonders how those amounts turned up in the business accounting :confuzzled:

As Hicks didn't explain why, one can only speculate:

* Forgot to say "President";
* The stress of the moment;
* Felt guilty because her words are helping to convict her father figure;
* Felt guilty/remorse because she realized how complicit she was all along, i.e., she realized she was one of the baddies.
