It’s the perfect reverse barometer! Give Trump what he whines he can’t get! Watch him squirm!

If the room is so cold as reported, shivering ought to keep him up.

I saw that the socmed posts are being removed but I think I saw somewhere that he's also supposed to remove that stuff from his campaign materials as well. If so I wonder if that's happening.

What's a "device" to keep someone awake? Sticking a pin in his leg?

Hang on a sec: various other tweeters had the "some jerk*" as Cohen

*no offense, Bob.

Every time I hear Trump complaining about the cold courthouse room, I remember my mother's wise words:

Dress accordingly!

Geez, how old is he? What a whiny baby!

Kyle Griffin @kylegriffin1 wrote: Breaking: An appeal's court has denied Trump's request to delay the hush money trial.

Trump sought a delay because Merchan refused to recuse, because he couldn't invoke an immunity defense and because the judge made his team file motions with a delay to allow for redactions.

This is just a random sample (although quality content!) of the text exchanges in the trial exhibits. Is there some reason the DA can't use normal texting format, almost like screenshots of the exchange? Beyond the redactions, they're hard to read. I guess you have to train yourself to just go to the end of the box.

I was glad to see Merchan point out the business with the Watters "tweet" - how trump had changed it to look like he was quoting Watters when he really changed the words and then tried to pass it off as an RT.

I did hear a brief mention on CNN that Ken Paxton showed up in court today. There was some chatter about rotating visitors out, since tfg's aides can't have their phones and thus can't do the work they're supposed to be doing.

:o Oh gosh, Donald Trump, the hero of the birther movement, had been commenting on Sharon Rondeau's flypaper of a website? Only the best and the greatest! So unfair!

Pretty sure. when we get the transcript, it will be clear that it was Cohen who called Gina.

For one thing, it sounds like Cohen's modus opereandi. For another, seems unlikely that fuckhead would make such a call.

I went to Google Translate to translate MAGA to English.

I typed in the MAGA word "fighter" and it returned, "whiny baby."

Ignore the title! It is out of context. The judge commenting agreed with Merchan’s ruling and explains why.

Ooh I bet turnip was just seething (if he wasn't asleep) when that exchange happened. He couldn't even attach Cohen in the moment. I wonder if he lawyers use a "device" for impulse control as well as waking him up.

I learned a new legal term from a tweet today - Contemnor
A contemnor is a person who is found to be in contempt of court. A party becomes a contemnor by ignoring/disobeying a court order. Contemnors are subject to court sanctions and punishments.

If the contemnor is held in civil contempt of court, they can avoid sanctions entirely by complying with the initial court order. If the contemnor is held in criminal contempt of court, they are subject to sanctions regardless of whether they ultimately choose to comply with the court order or not.
So Trump is a contemnor.

It was grimly amusing that both Michael Popok and retired Justice Barbara Jaffe stumbled when the discussion turned to the differences between civil and criminal contempt. It's a topic that's subtle and tricky, the kind of thing I've never been able to keep straight for very long after I've studied up on it.

Same here, chancery. It's a tricky topic. I had a case involving contempt in a civil case in which the judge put my client and the opposing client both in jail. I learned that day about arrogant, abusive judges who say things they totally forget. He told my client in fervent tones to come to court any time her ex harassed her when he issued a permanent domestic relations order of protection then threw her in jail!
