IIRC the Governor of Florida can restore a felon's voting rights. Keep an eye on DeSantis allowing the Insurrectionists a free pass.

Capitol rioter Richard Barnett “believes that his actions were protected by the First Amendment ... that he showed up to peacefully protest, to petition this government for a redress along with the wrongs of other citizens,” his attorney says.

Give me a break, Barnett stole things from Pelosi's office, in addition to other offenses. Hardly first amendment territory.

You do recall correctly... However that panel, led by the Governor, only meets 4 times per year -- and each hearing only addresses ~100 persons. But DeSantis can't moot Federal charges, so no worry there.

NOT GUILTY plea entered in Capitol breach case of John Andries of Maryland
Andries is accused of entering Capitol thru broken window & and being part of crowd that was attempting to push past police line.
He joins a growing list of defendants who'll return to court in Sept

I saw this interview. The lawyer repeated a claim that a lot of the insurrectionists are being held without bail and being tortured.
I don't know about the torture but if they're denied bail, I'm pretty sure it's because the court determined them to be a danger to the public and/or a flight risk.
And since when did "insurrection" have a very specific legal meaning?

Here's a newly released video in the Jeffrey McKellop case the feds say shows him "violently striking a uniformed [Metropolitan Police Department] Captain in the face with a flagpole, and then throwing that flagpole like a spear at officers.”

Isn’t 20 kinda young to be an Oathkeeper?
As I remember, when Oathkeepers were formed during the TeaBagger days, the name came from the oath they took as military member & their assertion that the oath didn’t expire when they were discharged.

Yeah seems hinky to me, but fwiw it is CURRENT and former law enforcement and military.
The simplest explanation here is that they've lowered their expectations, of course.

I guess it also depends on just how quickly someone can wash out of the military. 20 is more than old enough to fail and then tell everyone you something impressive because you started the program.

From the Oath Keepers website:
“All who are current or prior military, law enforcement, fire, EMS, Search and Rescue, or other first responder are eligible for full membership. If you are not prior service, you can still join as an associate member (we will treat you the same, as we are all in this together, and it is our mission to train you and pass on our skills).”

It's the Jeremy Dewitte loophole, for those who jumped into Falluja.
