Agreed.
Silver lining? This removes Putin’s ego a step away and could facilitate descalation
A civil war can be left alone.

The world must mount a strong response to this.
The story changes so much the every day Russian's head must be spinning. I don't understand how people (Russian or American) can fail to recognized propaganda.

Because it's the best propaganda you ever saw, I mean, better than anyone, most people don't know propaganda is by definition a lie and we all know I am the KING of lies, so well, it's just good propaganda because I'm the best liar ever.

I half hope this backfires and the world goes 'no, your grain is too valuable to our national security for you to have, so we will come and take it'. In all seriousness, cutting off people's food always sounds like a power play, but can often result in being invaded since pissed off hungry people are not that interested in submitting.

"Hunger will break through stone walls and anything except a Suffolk cheese." Samuel Pepys said in his diary.

Suffolk cheese, no longer made, was an especially hard dry cheese eaten by the poorest people of England and royal navy sailors. Suffolk was a major butter producer so Suffolk cheese was made from skim milk with almost no butterfat.

Hence the lesser known expression, "Let them eat Suffolk cheese!" meaning "give them something worthless and act like you've done a good thing." I think it's been replaced in the modern parlance with "I will throw paper towels!"

Seriously? I'm surprised to learn Garland has any interest in attacks on a democratically elected government.

I mean, sure, as long as there's no election a year in either direction to affect. Or something. :confuzzled:

Don't get your hopes up, he might be over there looking for Hunter Biden's other laptop.

Can confirm, that is definitely a coal power plant (possibly also a coal-fired steam generating plant - steam is used for heating and industrial processes)

On July 4,1976 the future Mrs. V and I went to Boston and attended the Bicentennial performance of the "1812 Overture" by Arthur Fiedler and the Boston Symphony Esplanade Orchestra with real artillery and local church bells. Then fireworks. There was a huge crowd by the Charles River that filled the area from the Hatch Concert Shell to the Harvard Bridge.

We and several college friends of mine got there first thing in the morning and stayed all day.

The rubes think it's an American song, about the time George Washington captured the Boston Airport in the War of 1812.
