AFAIK Putin is not a military guy, he's an intelligence and covert-operations guy. :snippity:
Thanks, tek. That all makes sense.

That sounds like so much fun, Slim! Wish we were closer to you. Definitely more fun than the Roger Stone event we tried to trick you into attending 8-)

Andrew Torba of GAB is an anti-semitic, racist piece of trash. Now add Russia supporter to the list Email just sent:

The entire nation state of Russia is getting the "Gab treatment" by Big Tech and the globalist regime.

By that I mean they are being systematically purged from the internet all within the span of about a week.

Google is blocking their apps. https://trends.gab.com/item/622023d3f5713b9e75275c0f

Apple is blocking their apps. https://trends.gab.com/item/62202385f5713b9e75270cb1

YouTube, Facebook, Twitter, and Telegram have banned or limited access to their accounts. https://trends.gab.com/item/62223f8303f2255b96bad69c

Twitter has started "fact-checking" and reducing the reach of their links. https://trends.gab.com/item/62223fa403f2255b96bad708

YouTube has demonetized their videos. https://trends.gab.com/item/621d8a90f5713b9e756ac19e

Reddit has "quarantined" the /r/russia community. https://trends.gab.com/item/622240543376b246f2aa078a

Namecheap, a domain registrar, has cut off ALL Russian customers. https://trends.gab.com/item/6222409a3376b246f2aa0931

American right wing dissidents are no strangers to any of these things. All of these tools of war have been used against us as American citizens for six years now. In Gab's case we have been banned from both app stores, domain registrars, and big tech platforms for years. Now these same tools and tactics of war that have been developed and used against us as dissidents are being used against all of Russia.

Other nation states should be paying attention to this. Are you going to continue to allow your citizens to be controlled entirely by a handful of companies in Silicon Valley, or is now perhaps the time to start building your own sovereign technology and infrastructure?

Unlike our spineless Republican "leaders" in America, who had total and complete control over government from 2016-2018 and did absolutely nothing to stop Big Tech tyranny, Russia is fighting back. Russia has shut down Facebook and Twitter completely and this is honestly a smart play. Why give the globalist regime insight into what your citizens are talking about? https://trends.gab.com/item/622242553376b246f2aa12fe

Data isn't just the "new oil," data in a time of war is priceless. Especially the data of your own people!

Yesterday Gab engineers discovered a massive anti-Russian botnet on our platform, which we quickly banned. There were hundreds of newly created accounts all sharing the same dozen or so IP addresses. They were reposting, commenting, and liking anti-Russian fake news to the Gab Explore page. Our bot detection systems caught them quickly and we removed them from the platform.

This type of activity is eerily similar to CENTCOM's Operation Earnest Voice. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Operation_Earnest_Voice We have no proof who was behind this activity, all we know is what their agenda was: promoting anti-Putin and anti-Russian propaganda. Gab is not a platform for state-backed PSYOP campaigns. We're not going to allow this coordinated inauthentic activity to take place in our community, not from foreign state actors and not from our own government.

We also aren't going to ban a foreign news outlet or Russian citizens from Gab for no reason. RT News has been on Gab for over a year now and has never once even come close to violating our terms of service. Gab is now the one place on the internet where you can find RT News and you can do so by clicking here. [no way I'm copying that link]

AFAIK Putin is not a military guy, he's an intelligence and covert-operations guy.

maintaining a usable military requires training, maintenance, and testing. Actually standing up an army to fight is a huge logistical effort ("an army fights on its stomach")

It is plausible to me that Putin left this to his generals, and his generals were thinking 'we're Russia, we'll never have to actually FIGHT' so the funding was ripe for the taking.

Decades of stasis have surely reinforced the idea that this is the way things work.
Combination of kleptocracy looting of state assets, Potemkin Village masking and "shoot the messenger" mentality in the court of Czar Vladimir.

Many of the hallmarks similar to a classic "long con".....

Live Updates: As Ukrainians Slow Russia’s Advance, Putin Threatens Loss of Statehood
The Russian leader amped up his threats as outgunned Ukrainians continued to fight off his military. The mayor of the first major city to fall to Russia said people were protesting the occupation. And in one besieged city, a cease-fire collapsed within hours.

As Russian forces pummel Ukrainian cities and towns into rubble, setting off a mass exodus of panicked people and creating increasingly dire conditions for those who remain, the prospect of a limited cease-fire in one besieged coastal city collapsed under the hail of reported Russian shelling on Saturday.

President Vladimir V. Putin of Russia also threatened that Ukraine might lose its statehood. “The current leadership needs to understand that if they continue doing what they are doing, they risk the future of Ukrainian statehood,” he said at a meeting in Moscow on Saturday, in his first extended remarks since the start of the war. “If that happens, they will have to be blamed for that.”
Ukrainian protesters take to the streets in occupied Kherson.
Kherson, in southern Ukraine, was the first major city to fall to Russian forces and now popular street protests are presenting a challenge to the new authority there.

At around 10 a.m. on Saturday, people started gathering in Liberty Square, the central square in the city center, according to video streamed live by protesters at the scene. There appeared to be hundreds of people, chanting and holding Ukrainian flags.

They had their most feared General shot dead Attacking Keiv Airport, this could be their way of getting their alpha manhood back. B shooting people outside Keiv becasue they are too much of fucking cowards to do it closer to the city.

Also could be trying to pull forces out of the heavily defended city to ambush them where its more in their favor.

Either way its bad news.
