Remember those cyber attacks? Well surprise, surprise.

The U.S. has technical information linking Russian GRU to this week’s distributed denial of service attacks in Ukraine. Known GRU infrastructure has been noted transmitting high volumes of communications to Ukraine-based IP addresses and associated banking-related domains.

The United States staunchly supports Ukraine in defending its citizens from disruptive or destabilizing Russian cyber-attacks. We will continue to expose Russia’s activity and work with Allies and partners to hold Russia accountable for its actions in cyberspace.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy will attend the Munich Security Conference on Saturday and return home later the same day, a statement from his office said.

Zelenskiy's trip had been under scrutiny due to concern in Western countries that Russia is poised to launch a military offensive against Ukraine and could do so while the president is out of the country. Russia denies any plans to attack its neighbour.

Colonel Vindman is scaring the shit out of me.

I heard him on @PoliticsGirl podcast and he scared me too

Listened to the episode of the podcast Vindman and his wife Rachel were on. Vindman, and his wife for that matter, have a lot of expertise with Ukraine and Russia. To nutshell it, Vindman drew a lot of parallels to WW2 and pretty frankly couldn't overemphasize how bad this is. In his opinion. His analogy for our position is that we are threatening to take their keys away if they do X, when we should really be more in the mode of taking the keys away before they have a chance to do X. The host suggests he is a hawk, he makes personal claim to a dove just trying to avoid WW2 over again. I don't really agree with him. The background he and his wife provided on the two countries was really interesting.

Dear followers: I get it, these are confusing and difficult times. But if I say *occupied* Donbas, the question of who is doing the mobilization seems, well, bizarre.

Parts of #Donbas are occupied by RUSSIA. That’s who is doing the forced conscription. Not Ukrainian government.
