I adore Dave Neiwert. He was my “boss” for a while at FDL - well, not technically my boss, he was in charge of content and I was a mod. YHe is such a nice guy.

LOL - TIL I learned that Neiwart was with FDL (and you). Love his pics of the orcas (and other critters) in the San Juans.Phoenix520 wrote: ↑Tue Feb 01, 2022 10:25 pm I adore Dave Neiwert. Judge DENIES Stewart Rhodes' request that he be detained in Texas ahead of his July trial.
His Texas lawyers asked that he be jailed closer to them for trial prep.
Judge: "The court will not grant Mr. Rhodes more favorable treatment than those similarly-situated defendants.

Slim, this is not a criticism of you or any one else using the badge but wouldn't it be better as "STOMP"? Stamp in my eyes /ears invokes notions of a toddler stamping their feet and I don't think that is what anyone is shooting for when they use . Just my 2 cents worth of uninformed opinion

I stole it from the Hillary Clinton forum, lo these many years ago. It was one of the earliest birther hotspots, there were THOUSANDS of birthers, they had banned everyone who wasn't and they still had many thousands of PUMAs - "party unity my ass, I want Sarah Palin now". So here's a typical night: An English-language newspaper in Egypt reported that Phil Berg had filed Hollister v. Soetoro. A lady on the HRC forum would gush about this important new case. A dozen other ladies would post the "STAMP!" smiley to show total femalian approval. So exciting, ANOTHER new case saying Obama is not qualified to be president!! But then I would show up and point out that it was the exact same case they were all gushing about in 4 other threads, not a new case at all, and BTW it was going to go nowhere (Narrator: it went nowhere). Then I'd get a warning for disrupting the forum. Eventually got kicked off.
Their loss. That forum is long gone, birtherism is dead, and the PUMAs got what was coming to them.
But I stole the femalian "STAMP!" smiley, in case someday I ran my own District Court of Bun-Dogs, and had some ladies who might make good use of it. I think it means "I, as a person blessed with a vagina, approve of the post above this one."
No, I'm not going to find the equivalent for those of us blessed with a penis. Chivalry is on a ventilator.

Because I don't always "hear" words in my head when I'm reading, it took me a couple of years before I finally understood what the "District Court of Bun-Dogs actually meant (I was reading a post out loud to my husband and finally heard what it sounded like)
I just about died laughing. It still cracks me up every time I see it!

Think boondocks .., and factor in Orly’s consummate misunderstanding.
Re: Keepers of the Oaf (Oath Keepers) Elmer Stewart Rhodes etc.
Chris Hayes reports the Elmer’s lawyer says Elmer testified for 6 hours and took the Fifth 30 or 40 times. No idea what he said for the other 5 hours 53 minutes.
