Do You Have A "Go To" Christmas Movie?
When I was growing up, we watched It's A Wonderful Life and an older Miracle On 34th Street and I still try to get a watch in every December.
But new movies come out over time and The Ref hits my cynicism square on, followed by Scrooged.
Any one else have a movie they watch every Christmas Season?

Well, I went with the Bazillion of them since you forgot Nightmare Before Christmas.
Hubby would choose The Christmas Story, for sure. I watched a lot of It's a Wonderful Life. Still like to catch it.

The school scenes in a Christmas Story were filmed at Victoria School in my city, St. Catharines. The school is a women’s shelter now. We watch thus movie every year.

Christmas Story for sure. Also Wonderful Life. The mother-in-law is big on Miracle on 34th St. The better half is a big fan of Elf and Christmas Vacation (me too for the Griswolds.)
I put the 24hrs of Christmas Story on in recent years.

To be honest, "taking place at Christmas" makes Ghostbusters 2 a Christmas movie. The climax of the Movie takes place at New Years eve, but still.
And "Its a wonderful life" came to be associated with Christmas becasue the rights were allowed to lapse and it cost nothing for TV stations to play it constantly around Christmas. I never liked it. It's really a very sad story.
My go to movie is "Batman Returns" It actually mention Christmas quite a lot. and the final words are
"Well ... Come what may... Merry Christmas, Mr. Wayne."
"Merry Christmas, Alfred. Goodwill to all Men. And Women."
Which alone gives it more of a Christmas feel than "Die hard."

Scrooged is my favorite Christmas Carol. But I'm a huge Bill Murray fan. Also too, Carol Kane.

I'm a major Humbug about Chrstimas, so I don't care for most "Christmas-y" things. I gotta go with Die Hard for this one just because it keeps the Christmas stuff enough in the background that it doesn't spoil the movie.

I recommend The Ref, if you can stomach Kevin Stacy in a movie. I guess I'm about the only one that is not totally enamored with the Christmas holidays. My roomie is watching the movies (all of them I think. Right now it's the Santa Claus movie that Tim Allen had out several years ago), sings/hums Christmas songs most of the day (drives me nutty), and has her car radio tuned to Sirus XM Christmas music stations.
*sighs*
Yeah, I'm ready for it to be over. At least she waits until after Thanksgiving through.

My favorite Christmas Carol is the one with Alistair Sim. There is no other.
I'm now very fond of the Doctor Who episode with the creepy Santa Claus aliens.

I can't remember which title, but its the Hallmark movie where there's a girl who is engaged to a guy, but doesn't realize that she's actually in love with another guy... you know the one six hundred and thirty two I'm talking about, don't you?

A School Board Christmas, from The Daily Show. Excellent parody of Hallmark movies.

I’d have voted for How the Grinch Stole Christmas, but ONLY the animated version! That’s been a must-see in our house for many years.
