Scotty and the Secret History of Hollywood is a 2017 American documentary film about the life of Scotty Bowers, who acted as an unpaid pimp in Hollywood from the 1940s to 80s. Based on Bowers's book Full Service, it was produced and directed by Matt Tyrnauer, a Special Correspondent for Vanity Fair magazine. The film premiered at the 2017 Toronto International Film Festival and was theatrically released on July 27, 2018.

Arizona state Sen. Tony Navarrete accused of 7 felony charges involving sexual conduct with 2 teens

State Sen. Otoniel "Tony" Navarrete is facing seven felony counts involving allegations of sexual conduct with two teenagers, which would add up to a minimum of 49 years in prison if he were convicted. Maricopa County Superior Court Commissioner Steve McCarthy set a $50,000 bond and placed numerous restrictions on Navarrete, D-Phoenix, should he be released from jail. The lawmaker made his initial court appearance Friday afternoon. Before the afternoon was over, Navarrete's 48 Democratic colleagues in both the House and Senate called on him to resign, and other elected officials joined the chorus asking him to step down. Navarrete was arrested Thursday night after Phoenix police received a complaint Wednesday about allegations of incidents involving sexual conduct starting in 2019. Police interviewed the alleged victims and then had one of them call Navarette, according to a probable cause statement.

In the recorded call, monitored by police, Navarrete, 35, acknowledged touching the victim's penis and performing oral sex on the youth multiple times over several years, according to documents released by Maricopa County Superior Court. Navarette told the youth he regretted his actions, knew they were wrong and repeatedly told the youth that the young man was not at fault for any of the interactions. "Of course, I regret any bad actions that I did, absolutely wishing everything could be different. I'm sorry, mijo," Navarrete was quoted as saying in the phone call. It appears he was not aware that police were listening in. In the phone call, the victim, now age 16, confronted Navarrete, asking why he touched his penis. Navarrete told him he wasn’t well, records show. He repeatedly expressed regret for his actions, which reportedly occurred at Navarrete's home and have caused anger and anxiety issues for the youth. “Otoniel told him he is sorry he has to go through all this pain, not deserving it,” according to the narrative of the phone call. The documents note another alleged incident where Navarette reached under the shorts and touched the upper thigh of another teenager, who swatted his hand away.

Officers arrested Navarrete at his home without incident. He was in custody and attended remotely at his initial appearance, with attorney Roland Rillos representing him in the courtroom. "We have no public comment at this time but want to emphasize the importance of the presumption of innocence in this case," Rillos said after the hearing. Police are recommending seven felony charges against Navarette involving four offenses:
Three counts of sexual conduct with a minor and one count of molestation of a child, punishable as Class 2 felonies because the alleged victim was under age 15.
Two counts of sexual conduct with a minor, punishable as Class 6 felonies because the alleged victim was age 15 or older.
One count of attempted sexual conduct with a minor, punishable as a Class 3 felony.
Rillos on Friday argued for a lighter bond of $15,000, noting that Navarrete cooperated with police and had no prior arrest record. But prosecutors pointed to the nature of the alleged crimes, plus the potentially lengthy prison sentence if convicted, and pressed for $50,000, plus conditions that he stay away from children, have no contact with the victims and surrender his passport, among other things. McCarthy granted those conditions.

Even as the initial appearance was happening in court, calls for Navarrete's resignation started to come in from fellow Democrats. Arizona Superintendent of Public Instruction Kathy Hoffman was among the first, acknowledging that he is innocent until proven otherwise, but said resignation is in order. "We must hold our elected leaders to the highest standards," she said in a Twitter post. The state Legislature's LGBTQ Caucus, of which Navarette is a member, echoed the resignation call and expressed remorse for the victims of abuse."My heart is broken. I am furious," said Rep. César Chávez, D-Phoenix, the caucus chairman. "If these charges are sustained and proven, it is a betrayal of trust that cannot be overlooked or ignored. Children deserve better. I implore the courts to make sure that every perpetrator of sexual crimes be removed from society and punished to the full extent of the law." All 48 Democrats in the Legislature called for Navarrete to resign his seat, which covers a broad swath of west-central Phoenix and parts of Glendale.

Instead of Batman, it's his sidekick Robin's storyline that now has DC Comics fans excited. In the most recent issue of Batman: Urban Legends, a new chapter for Tim Drake, also known as Robin, unfolds when it's revealed he's bisexual. The sweet moment has been building for a couple of issues.

In part 1 of the Sum of Our Parts story, Tim meets up with his old friend Bernard for dinner. But their plan goes awry when Bernard is kidnapped by Chaos Monster, according to Entertainment Weekly. Fast forward to part 3, featured in the current issue of Urban Legends #6, and Bernard has been rescued. He tells Robin that he wishes he could have finished his date with Tim, not realizing they were one and the same. Later in the story, Tim knocks on Bernard's door.

"Tim Drake… do you want to go on a date with me?" Bernard asks, per the outlet.

"Yeah… Yeah, I think I want that," Tim replies.

Tim and Bernard's romance was hinted at on the DC Comics website. "Tim Drake is in the den of the Chaos Monsters with the other kidnapped teenagers of Gotham City. In order to free himself and the other teens, Tim will have to embrace help from his friend Bernard and hear something about himself he never knew," reads the description of Urban Legends #6. "A brand-new chapter of Tim Drake's life starts here, and you won't want to miss it!"

The story creators are happy they can help share this pivotal story development with fans.

OnlyFans, which has amassed a base of more than 130 million users largely for adult-oriented subscription fan pages, announced that it will ban sexually explicit content this fall. The U.K.-based company said it is making the changes “to comply with the requests of our banking partners and payout providers,” in a statement provided to Variety. Effective Oct. 1, 2021, “OnlyFans will prohibit the posting of any content containing sexually explicit conduct,” the company said in a statement. “In order to ensure the long-term sustainability of the platform, and to continue to host an inclusive community of creators and fans, we must evolve our content guidelines.”

According to OnlyFans, creators will continue to be allowed to post content containing nudity “as long as it is consistent with our Acceptable Use Policy.” The site’s terms currently allow nudity except in the case of content featuring public nudity recorded in or broadcast from a jurisdiction where public nudity is illegal. “We will be sharing more details in the coming days, and we will actively support and guide our creators through this change in content guidelines,” the company said. “OnlyFans remains committed to the highest levels of safety and content moderation of any social platform. All creators are verified prior to being able to upload any content to OnlyFans, and all uploaded content is checked by automated systems and human moderators.” OnlyFans earlier this week officially launched OFTV, a free streaming service that will not include any sexually explicit material. OFTV features original content from more than 100 OnlyFans creators, spanning fitness, cooking, comedy, health, music and more. OnlyFans earlier this year soft-launched the on-demand streaming service, which now features a content library of over 800 videos.

Founded in 2016, OnlyFans says it has paid out more than $5 billion to creators worldwide. According to its terms, the company keeps 20% of revenue generated by its 2 million-plus creators. Because it has been a home to X-rated content, OnlyFans is available only on the web, not on mobile app platforms including iOS and Android. Top personalities with OnlyFans fan pages include Bhad Bhabie, Cardi B, Jordyn Woods, Bella Thorne, Tyga, Amber Rose, Blac Chyna, Rubi Rose, Tana Mongeau and Trey Songz. In July 2021, OnlyFans approved 114,065 creator accounts (out of 279,222 applications), according to the company’s first monthly transparency report. It also revealed that it deactivated 15 OnlyFans accounts last month after detecting child pornography on those accounts.

Gabrielle Union’s I’ll Have Another Productions has made a deal with Amazon Studios for a queer teen comedy tentatively titled To Be Real, Deadline has confirmed. Emmy/Tony/Grammy-winner Billy Porter is on board to direct. Ryan Shiraki wrote the script. To Be Real is described as an LGBTQ Superbad crossed with Olivia Wilde’s Booksmart. , according to its logline, “an edgy, laugh out loud comedy about three queer high school seniors who go on the ultimate quest to attend their first New York Pride parade.”

I’ll Have Another Productions will produce To Be Real. I’ll Have Another’s Kian Gass, Porter and Shiraki will be EPs. I’ll Have Another Productions and Katie and Mauricio Mota’s Wise Entertainment recently optioned Tamara Winfrey-Harris’ award-winning book The Sisters Are Alright: Changing the Broken Narrative of Black Women In America to develop as a 30-minute dramedy for television.

Porter began production on his directorial debut What If? last month in Pittsburgh. The Orion Pictures film is a modern coming-of-age story that follows a trans high school senior navigating an unexpected relationship.

Rep. Liz Cheney (R-Wyo.) on Sunday said she was wrong to have opposed same-sex marriage, a position that once caused an enormous rift in her famous political family. “I was wrong. I was wrong,” Cheney told “60 Minutes” correspondent Lesley Stahl in an interview that aired Sunday, after Stahl asked how Cheney would defend condemning same-sex marriage in 2013, despite her sister being married to a woman and despite her father, former vice president Richard B. Cheney, coming out in support of same-sex marriage at the time.

“I love my sister very much. I love her family very much, and I was wrong,” Liz Cheney added, appearing emotional. “It’s a very personal issue and very personal for my family. I believe my dad was right, and my sister and I have had that conversation.” Cheney said she and her sister, Mary Cheney, have since reconciled. In 2013, as she campaigned to challenge then-Wyoming Sen. Mike Enzi, Liz Cheney publicly voiced her opposition to same-sex marriage and said it was an issue on which she and her sister simply disagreed. “I believe in the traditional definition of marriage,” she told “Fox News Sunday” then.

Mary Cheney — Liz Cheney’s younger sister, who is a lesbian and married her partner in 2012 — went public shortly afterward, saying of her sister’s position at the time: “You’re just wrong.” Their parents tried to referee the fight, but tension remained long after Liz Cheney abandoned her campaign. “I love my sister and I’m not going to say any more about it because of my, just my respect for her. My views on it are clear,” Liz Cheney said in 2016.

Her views on LGBTQ rights have since evolved dramatically. In her “60 Minutes” interview Sunday, Cheney spoke about also wanting to ensure that transgender people feel safe. “This is an issue that we have to recognize, you know, as human beings — that we need to work against discrimination of all kinds in our country, in our state,” Cheney said. “We were at an event a few nights ago and there was a young woman who said she doesn’t feel safe sometimes, because she’s transgender, and nobody should feel unsafe. Freedom means freedom for everybody.”

Despite her stated views Sunday, Cheney in February voted against the Equality Act, which would have amended the Civil Rights Act of 1964 to add sexual orientation and gender identity as protected classes.

It sparks 10 minutes of hushed yet urgent conversation about why it might have happened because it’s so unnatural, unusual and bizarre. One or both owners often leave the dog park angry and offended.

Weekend question for fun... who was your teenage crush?

Among others, loved Jon-Erik Hexum, he was the guy who unfortunately aimed a blank gun at his head and killed himself on the set of a TV show he was starring in called "Cover-Up". He was only 26. His big credits before that were a Sci Fi called "Voyager" (against 60 Minutes, but it lasted a year), and a high-quality intellectual film with Joan Collins called "The Making of a Male Model".

Jon-Erik Hexum was an American actor and model, known for his lead roles in the TV series Voyagers! and Cover Up, and his supporting role as Pat Trammell in the biopic The Bear. He died by an accidental self-inflicted blank cartridge gunshot to the head on the set of Cover Up. Wikipedia

Here's the 2-part Pilot for "Cover-Up", not great quality but all his episodes are on YouTube. He was killed after episode 8, it was a tragedy. CBS spent a ton on this pilot, it's an all-star international caper. You'll know the theme song, "Holding Out for a Hero". Music budget is huge on this Pilot -- you'll hear Michael Jackson and tons of songs that must have been a fortune to clear. The show got good reviews, even Richard Anderson is on it to give it that "Charlie's Angels" feel. They recast after Hexum's passing, but it wasn't the same and CBS cancelled it after the one season. We didn't remember it so it's been a fun mojito afternoon laugh and watch.
