It's not like other states are having surplus staff this time around. Health care workers can work "at home", no need to relocate. Last year the east coast could pull resources from other parts of the country that were not yet battling the pandemic.
And if they DO go somewhere, they'd probably rather go to a place like WA State where they can get paid well to travel, and not have *quite* so many yahoos flooding the hospitals.

Maricopa county, AZ. Case changes are increasing dramatically, so BAD. They are talking about a possible peak here though, so that would be good, dunno what they are basing that on.

Yes, this photo of severely ill COVID-19 patients lying on the floor in Jacksonville is real

COVID patients began lining up Tuesday at the Jacksonville Main Library Conference Center to receive monoclonal therapy. Thanks to a recent order from Gov. Ron DeSantis, people infected with COVID-19 are now able to receive the antibody treatment without a prescription or medical referral.

What I found amazing, and something I don't recall at the time, was how much NoDak and SoDak were affected in Q4 2020. Astounding numbers that were nearly triple what New York ever faced.

FRANKFORT, Ky. — The Kentucky governor’s efforts to combat COVID-19 have suffered a landmark legal defeat.

The state’s high court on Saturday cleared the way for laws reining in his emergency powers to take effect. The state Supreme Court ordered a lower court to dissolve an injunction blocking the new Republican-backed laws limiting Democratic Gov. Andy Beshear’s emergency powers.

The ruling revolves around a dispute between Beshear and the GOP-led legislature over the scope of the governor’s executive authority in times of emergencies. It comes as COVID-19 cases and hospitalizations are surging in Kentucky.

The governor lifted most of his pandemic restrictions in June. But with COVID-19 cases spiking due to the delta variant, he signed a recent executive order imposing an indoor mask mandate in K-12 schools, child care and pre-kindergarten programs across Kentucky.

One of the contested laws limits the governor’s executive orders in times of emergency to 30 days unless extended by lawmakers.

The National Guard is setting up a field hospital in an empty former KMART parking lot across from the hospital in Roseburg, Oregon. It's in a great location, one of the busiest shopping areas in town. People get to drive by and remind themselves covid isn't real.
Conservation is what conservation does and it sure ain't preservation.
