Sorry. Couldn't help myself. Mrs. FRP are back safely from a long and much-goddamn-needed vacay in the Rockies, away from work and, incidentally, Fogbow. I see the Rittenhouse thread slightly blew up just after I left, and I can't say I'm sorry I missed it. Like I said, a getaway was needed, even if it did mean a total of 2500 miles and something like 35 hours of driving altogether.

But now my claws are sharpened and my tail is bushy, and I'm raring to get back to work.

Did you climb Mount Evans on this trip?

No, I didn't bring my bike. First, I hadn't had the time to train up the way I did last time. Second, it was the first time Mrs. FRP and I had gone anywhere by ourselves for more than a week since I was in law school 10+ years ago. (Our last trip to CO was a joint venture with another couple.) It seemed a bit churlish to impose me killing myself on my bike and then spending the rest of the day flat on my back into what was supposed to be a getaway for the two of us.

The mountains aren't going anywhere, and we're already planning a return.

Also we did drive up Evans and get to see the mountain goats at the summit who weren't there when I biked up a few years ago. They're awesome creatures. So awesome, I have had one tattooed on my leg for the last two years.

I've missed them. I was sad in my college geography class when they told us to open our new atlases that had all those new former Soviet republics, take a pen, and draw a line in the middle of the country.

They may have split again since the photo is actually from 2014 and you know how Trump was with Sharpies.
