This is fantastic news as President Trump is set to debate Joe Biden in 2 days.

Now Trump can talk about the weaponization of government and the witnesses in his trial, but Merchan still didn’t lift the part of the gag order that would allow President Trump to talk about the fact that @JoeBiden’s campaign is a client of Judge Merchan’s daughter, Loren Merchan, who runs a multi million dollar Democrat political consulting firm that has been using the Trump indictments to fundraise in support of anti-Trump Democrats.

As an outsider I would be in favour of keeping most of the gag order up until the whole of the appeal process is over. Especially on the jurors. Just in case of the unlikely case of a re-trial, the defendant could take the current jurors apart in public that could have a frightening effect on future jurors.

This is common in any high-profile trial, even those being tried for the first time.

Some people genuinely know little to nothing. Some will have forgotten the details. And many will say they can aside what they had consumed previously, and will judge only the evidence presented. (And many of those people will be telling the truth.)

A prospective juror's knowledge of the case occasionally comes on appeal, but appellate courts expect the trial court and the parties to suss out who is impermissibly biased or otherwise unable to set aside prior knowledge.

The liquor licenses for Donald Trump’s three New Jersey golf courses are in his eldest son’s name, not his own, according to records obtained by Business Insider. But hiding behind Donald Trump, Jr. isn’t enough to protect the elder Trump.

On Friday, state officials said Trump’s new felony record bars him from profiting from the licenses. They announced they will not renew the licenses for Trump National Bedminster and Trump National Golf Club in Colts Neck due to last month’s felony hush-money conviction.

“A review by ABC indicates that Mr. Trump maintains a direct beneficial interest in the three liquor licenses through the receipt of revenues and profits from them, as the sole beneficiary of the Donald J. Trump Revocable Trust,” the AG’s spokesperson said.

New Jersey to hold hearing on 2 Trump golf course liquor licenses following felony convictions

ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. (AP) — New Jersey regulators will hold a hearing next month on whether two golf courses owned by former President Donald Trump should have their liquor licenses renewed following his felony convictions in May in New York.

His company, the Trump Organization, predicted the licenses will not be affected, and cautioned against an investigation that it claimed could be “political in nature.”

The licenses for Trump golf courses in Colts Neck and Bedminster expire on Sunday. The state Division of Alcoholic Beverage Control said Friday it is not renewing the licenses, but it is issuing temporary 90-day permits to allow them to continue serving alcohol until a hearing on the licenses is held on July 19 in Trenton.

The hearing is scheduled for after Trump’s sentencing on July 11.

“During such a hearing, the applicant bears the burden of proof to demonstrate by a preponderance of the evidence that they remain qualified to maintain licensure, which includes a review of any beneficiaries of the licenses,” the state Attorney General’s Office said in a statement.

The license for a third Trump-owned golf course, in Pine Hill, has been renewed by the municipality, the state said.

Today, America First Legal (AFL) filed a formal administrative complaint with the Federal Election Commission (FEC) against New York County District Attorney Alvin L. Bragg, Jr. and Joe Biden’s principal campaign committee, Biden for President, for violations of the Federal Election Campaign Act.

In December 2022, Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg reportedly hired Matthew B. Colangelo to “jump-start” his office’s investigation of President Trump due to Mr. Colangelo’s “history of taking on Donald J. Trump and his family business.” Colangelo left his post as the number three in the DOJ to join the district attorney’s office – a move that reeks of partisanship.

Colangelo previously held senior positions in the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) and the New York Attorney General’s Office, both of which had competing investigations related to President Trump. Notably, before joining the Biden DOJ, Colangelo contributed several times to Bragg’s District Attorney campaign.

The available information indicates that Bragg’s hush money prosecution was “coordinated” with President Biden, i.e., it was made “in cooperation, consultation or concert with, or at the request or suggestion of” Biden.

Effectively, Bragg acted “in cooperation, consultation, or concert, with, or at the request of” Biden to influence the 2024 presidential election.

The good news is the judge can (and likely will) say, "Even if I exclude all evidence from after January 20, 2017, there's still enough evidence beyond a reasonable doubt to convict. DENNIED."

And the issue is preserved for appeal, so the appellate court can look at the case.
