https://fortune.com/2024/05/18/elon-mus ... quisition/‘Single greatest talent acquisition opportunity’: Elon Musk firing Tesla’s Supercharger team proves an unprecedented gift for the EV industry
Thanks to Elon Musk, the “single greatest talent acquisition opportunity in the industry” fell right into the lap of Aaron and Stephanie Luque—and they weren’t about to let the opportunity pass them by.
“The day before we had closed the biggest raise in the company’s history, $50 million,” remembers Luque, telling Fortune the task of recruiting to fill all the headcount they needed appeared daunting.
When he learned of Tesla’s bloodbath, he was shocked.
Access to the vast and reliable network of Superchargers—with its seamless integration and premium charging experience—was one of the most potent arguments why customers should buy Musk’s cars rather than a competitor’s.
On a private level, it was also tough because Luque had counted many employees as his friends.
“Every single person that I ever knew or loved at Tesla had been let go. They shared the same mission as us, they lived and breathed EV charging,” he adds.
One of those was George Bahadue, formerly senior manager for site acquisition and business development at Tesla.
“To my network, you’ve hit the jackpot—Tesla charging employees are a special breed, resilient and the best in the business. I highly encourage you to consider them as you build your teams and carry on the charging mission,” he posted to LinkedIn earlier this month.

It's pretty much propaganda fem the oil industry. I liked to tell people that parroted that, that they were posting that from a computer or phone that had similar amounts of human rights and environmental involved in it's creation so if they really cared they would have to top using the internet, and since all they had was those parrotted facts they never could answer that.
And a FAIR comparison would compare it with the cost of transporting and using oil and the construction of an Internal combustion Engine, and the thing is, when oyu do that you find it is even MORE environmentally destructive. Which is why, oddly, you NEVER see that comparison in any of those posts. Because they know if you did that comparison iCE will lose heavilly.
So all you have is talk about the batteries on it's own for shock value.
And I've seen similar posts talk about the construction of wind farms in similar fashion and claims that they are not actually cost effective at all. Which is total bullshit.

Dynamic cruise control is the best thing ever. And I love that I can change the speed on my steering wheel. I first had it on a minivan back in the day (it was a well-upgraded toyota - 2008ish) and I'd never have a car without it! When I have a rental car, it's the first thing I figure out.

When I loved in Dublin a guy I knew told me a story about his brother who was in Somewhere in the south, It might have been Texas, and it was his FIrst time on the Highways, and he had no idea about cruise control. SO basically his leg got tired and his speed kept creeping up. Well inevitably he got stopped and the first thing out of the 2 troopers mouths was "Look at the speed you are going at. Don't you guys know about Cruise control??" When they heard that Drivers were Irish and didn't they laughed and decided to let them go with a warning. But they took the time to show them how Cruise control worked.
But then the Sheriff drove up and apparently the guy got out and he had the white suit, Stetson and cigar of Boss Hogg. And my friends brother thought he was dead as if he decided to bring them in the Troopers would have had to comply with the orders. But it turned out the Sheriff was lovely, and they had a nice conversation. He said "You know, I had to call a police chief in Galway last month, and between his Galway Brogue and my Texas Drawl, I thought the conversation would never finish."

of course it isn't a high clearance monster truck.
At best its a standard Ute - an Aussie style ute. Americans would be most familiar with the GM El Camino (Holden Ute in Aussieland) and/or the Ford Ranchero (Ford Ute in Aussieland) versions from the 1960's.
But its a laughingly bad example of a ute.

smells like a steak and seats thirty-five..
Canyonero! Canyonero!
Well, it goes real slow with the hammer down,
It's the country-fried truck endorsed by a clown!

This is interesting and includes the real history of Elon Musk including how he got those government contracts. Hint: An ex employee of SpaceX works for NASA and is the very person in a position to decide who gets those coveted private company space contracts. And he got that first contract when SpaceX was nothing more than a loser company that had a rocket design that had zero success, with every single one having blown up.
