Rep. Jared Moskowitz (D-Fla.) donned a rubber mask of Russian President Vladimir Putin on his way to the House Oversight and Accountability Committee’s hearing investigating Hunter Biden’s business dealings Wednesday, mocking the GOP effort.
Moskowitz told media outside the hearing that he was there to thank Chair Jim Comer (R-Ky.) “for taking all of our intelligence and using it in the committee,” he said, acting as Putin.

I think he would have been more effective if he had talked about the Russian massacres of Jews in the 1940s. Stalin was OUR guy with a funny Moustache who massacred Jews, but reminding everyone that the same peoole who supplied Comer with his misinformation also massacred Jews would have been a stronger attack IMO.

I think Neville Chamberlain is very harshly thought of in the States. Although Winston Churchill may have been the right rhetorician for the war I have a higher opinion of Chamberlain both as a statesman and a person. Unfortunately he was an honest man who absolutely didn’t want to see a repeat of WW1 dealing with a thoroughly unscrupulous Führer.
Amusingly(?) I see some parallels between Churchill and Trump, especially in writing/ re-writing history.

The Chamberlain comparison has been bothering me, too, particularly in reference to MTG. He was a conservative, and he was duped (maybe because he wanted to be), but he was an established politician. He wasn't stupid, and he wasn't empty-headed and clueless.

I'll stick with "syntax". More specific, especially for a native speaker, which, presumably, fuckhead is.

I too was curious about the Neville Chamberlain comparison, and felt that was unfair on him. I do not recall any historian treating Chamberlain as a liar, a traitor or a fool. MTG is all of those.
My recollection of historians' attitude was more of Chamberlain being gullible or naively optimistic in accepting Hitler's assurances of peace, and mocking of the famous piece of paper from Munich.
That seemed more than a mite whiggish to me: it's too easy to retrospectively judge people's actions on now-known outcomes, without giving due weight to the circumstances of the times.
Those Munich talks were in 1938. The horrific Great War (sadly to become only WW1 in what might be a trilogy or worse) ended in 1918, only 20 years earlier. Europe was very much still living with the memories and the consequences (Indeed, reparations for WW1 were amongst the causes of WW2). Economies and society were further stressed by the Great Depression midway between WW1's end and the talks. Armed forces had been downgraded in many countries, including the UK, as a result of economic and social forces.
So the WW1 horrors were 20 years previously. 20 years before today was 2004 – that doesn't seem hugely long ago, did it?
So there was no appetite for war, no wish to lose more young men on blood-soaked battlefields in continental Europe.
Chamberlain had none of MTG's vileness, mendacity, she has none of his decency or leadership. MTG is no Chamberlain. And that is not a compliment to her!
