Disgusting. It hurts my heart. And they are blatant.

Well, I for one will not believe that Donald Trump is racist until he says he's going to stop work on building Lake No Negro. That's where I draw the line. If he does that, I'm done with him.

Are you saying that Trump's building something in Oregon, just a bit north of where you are? ;)

There's a reason articles like this have been written about a town called 'Anna'.

And the truth shall ever come uppermost,
And justice shall be done.

Duke ends full-ride scholarship program for select Black students in wake of affirmative action ruling

Duke is discontinuing its Reginaldo Howard Memorial Scholarship Program, a program for “top applicants of African descent,” in the wake of last year’s Supreme Court decision that ended race-based affirmative action in college admissions.

The announcement comes amidst a nascent national trend, with a number of public universities ending their own race-based scholarship programs in response to the Supreme Court ruling.

Established in 1979, the merit scholarship, which also required some recipients to demonstrate financial need, covered full tuition, room and board for a select group of Black undergraduates. The scholarship is named in honor of Reginaldo “Reggie” Howard, Duke’s first Black student government president who died in an automobile accident during his sophomore year in 1976.

“It is very much disheartening to hear that this program that opened the door for me to come to Duke is now being closed essentially, even though it will take on a new form,” junior Mya Harris said.

Duke didn’t even accept Black students until 1963. Now Black scholarships are banned but racist Jim Crow Legacy thrives.

This is America.

Lawsuit claims American Airlines asked Black passengers to deboard flight
Lawsuit alleges airline representative approached three Black men individually and asked them to leave without explanation
:snippity:
According to the lawsuit, the three men had never met before the flight and were not seated together. However, before takeoff, the lawsuit alleges that an American representative approached them individually and asked them to leave the plane without explanation.

Five other Black male passengers were also asked to leave the plane, a press statement said, adding, “As the plaintiffs began to comply with the directive to deplane, they noticed that the only passengers who were being ordered off the plane were Black men, and it appeared that every Black man on the flight was being removed.”

After the men were removed from the plane, they were allegedly told by an American representative that they would not be allowed to fly on the flight and would have to rebook their trip. Upon asking for an explanation, the men were told that they were removed because a white male flight attendant had complained about an unidentified passenger’s body odor, according to the lawsuit.

“Notably, at no time did anyone accuse any of the plaintiffs of having offensive body odor,” the press statement said.

When the plaintiffs pointed out that it appeared they were being racially targeted, at least one American representative allegedly said that she did “not disagree”. While they were complaining at the gate, the pilot announced to the rest of the passengers on the plane that the men had been removed because of a reported body odor complaint.

I was just in Baraboo yesterday, at the International Crane Foundation. Also as well, the Driftless Glen distillery.

‘Trad-Wife’ TikToker Axed From Job After Casually Saying N-Word
The baffling clip went viral Monday, with Lilly Gaddis dropping the slur as if she uses it regularly.

The white trad-wife TikToker who casually dropped the n-word in a cooking video that went viral Monday is already paying for her ignorance, with her employer, Rophe of the Carolinas, announcing it had let her go with immediate effect on Tuesday.

The woman at the center of the controversy, Lilly Gaddis, referred to her friends’ husbands as “broke ass n***s” in the clip—dropping the racial slur in a slight southern drawl so naturally, many speculated she must use it in casual conversation.

Gaddis, whose TikTok account was taken down by Tuesday evening, boasts 50,000 followers on X. On that platform, she showed no remorse for her comment and instead reshared posts from right-wing influencers who rushed to defend her hate speech.

“If my freedom of speech taken, they’ll be coming for yours next,” she posted Monday night, not long after posting a clip where she said she couldn’t “find a care” for the outrage she induced.

Gaddis did not strike a particularly conciliatory tone after Rophe of the Carolinas, a home health care company for the elderly and disabled, confirmed her departure in a fiery statement on Tuesday.

“Thanks black community for helping to launch my new career in conservative media!” she wrote on X. “You all played your role well like the puppets you are.”

In its statement, Rophe emphasized that Gaddis was a “newly hired” employee and that her statements “do not align” with the values and beliefs of the company, which is “operated by African American female and immigrant owned businesses.”

A since-deleted LinkedIn page listed Gaddis as a graphic designer who lives in the coastal city of Wilmington, North Carolina.

Arizona man indicted on federal firearms charges for allegedly planning attack targeting Black people at Atlanta concert

https://www.cnn.com/2024/06/12/us/arizo ... index.html
An Arizona man was indicted by a federal grand jury this week on several firearms charges, having been accused by the US Justice Department of planning a mass shooting targeting Black people and other minorities at a May Atlanta concert in hopes of inciting a race war before the upcoming presidential election.

Mark Prieto, 58, had seven guns when he was arrested on May 14 while driving east from Arizona through New Mexico, the US Attorney’s Office for the District of Arizona said in a news release Tuesday. He faces charges of firearms trafficking, transfer of a firearm for use in a hate crime and possession of an unregistered firearm, the release said.

The indictment against Prieto alleges he discussed his plans between January and May with two people whom he believed “shared his racist beliefs,” unaware they were working with the FBI, the US Attorney’s Office said. He then sold an AK-style rifle and an AR-style rifle to one of those individuals within the span of a month, all while under FBI surveillance, the release said.

Prieto was targeting a concert scheduled for May 14 and May 15 at State Farm Arena in downtown Atlanta, according to a statement of probable cause attached to the federal complaint. While it does not specify whose concert Prieto allegedly targeted, a schedule for the venue shows Puerto Rican rapper and singer Bad Bunny was slated to perform there on those dates.

After his arrest, Prieto denied he was going to Atlanta, but he did admit to knowing the two people who were working with the FBI, and told agents he had no intentions of carrying out the attack, the federal complaint states. CNN has reached out to Prieto’s public defender in New Mexico for comment.

If convicted, the charges of firearms trafficking and transfer of a firearm for use in a hate crime each carry a maximum sentence of 15 years in prison and a $250,000 fine, the US Attorney’s Office said. A conviction for possession of an unregistered firearm carries a sentence of up to 10 years and a $250,000 fine.
