Lots of skeery footage coming out of UT Austin.
Greg Abbott @GregAbbott_TX wrote: Arrests being made right now & will continue until the crowd disperses.

These protesters belong in jail.

Antisemitism will not be tolerated in Texas. Period.

Students joining in hate-filled, antisemitic protests at any public college or university in Texas should be expelled.

are these american students protesting for the same palestinians that were chanting and parading with cheer and joy when 9/11 happened? or it’s a different type of palestine?
Wasn’t this one of tfg’s lies that was disproven?

Regardless of which "side" anyone is on, the optics of this are horrible. Jackbooted (almost literally) armed thugs lined up against a bunch of college kids.

Yes, and I was just a little kid then.

I just wanted to point out Abbott's lying if he's saying "pro Hamas" when they're anti war. Manipulating public opinion.

FWIW, in an interview I caught, the student claimed to be pro-Palestine and pro-Israel, but anti-Hamas and anti-Netanyahu. FWIW.

Just in case they've got to plug a kid, I guess. Or a hundred.

This seems to be going the way of the Black Lives Matter protests, with people "outside" of the original protests turning it to something dark, in this case, antisemitism. Most of the students that I have heard are against the atrocities that are happening in Gaza, not against Jewish people, but of course, I can't speak for any of them. I don't think this was intended to be antisemitic. And most of the earlier reporting was that the antisemitic chanting and activities were taking place off campus, not the students on campus. I don't know what to think at this point because I have long been wary of how the news reports Israel-Palestinian issues.

I have always held that you can dislike what the Israeli government is doing without being against Hewish people for their religion. I don't like Netanyahu's policies one bit, he's a war monger and has constantly poked at Palestinians, hoping Hamas would harm a handful of Israeli military so he can slaughter thousands of Palestinian civilians. That playbook has worked for him for years.
There's a lot of things that need to change. One specifically? Police brutality.
