An update:
Hi! Folks I have some great news. I spoke to GREGG a few minutes ago. He is planning on going back to work on May 13. Better yet Root Beer and Biscuit will be returning from their recent secret deployment to (location redacted) Easter weekend so the 699th will once again be at full strength. We are planning a road trip to Entertrainment Junction and I will be sure to post some pictures.
HOORAY! Incredibly happy news!
Rumors abound that the 699th has been very active behind the scenes, but of course, there will be no comment. Any reporting about paw prints on Trump's NY civil fraud asset seizure documents is completely coincidental.

Parvati reports on Quatloos that Gregg passed on Friday, May 3, 2024.
As I believe some of you may be aware, Gregg passed away on Friday (May 3). In keeping with his wishes, there will be no funeral or service, but please consider donating to your local animal shelter.
As per his sister:
Although he seemed to be recovering from his brain injury, his health started declining at the beginning of April. I think his heart just gave out. Per his wishes, there will not be any funeral or memorial service. If you wish to honor him, please consider donating to your local animal shelter. I am grateful for the time I was able to spend with him the last few months.
RIP, Gregg. It was a pleasure to know you (and the original Dachshund Regiment member, Chili Dog).
He was a man with a big brain, a bigger heart, and a whole lot of attitude! Salut, Gregg!
I was in a hospital after midnight. Waiting for my turn in the ward. I was able to go home after 4 am, and I was happy to go home and hold my dog. Oh - and my son, too!
I didn't want a young dog, but then I found Mocha. My neighbor is the manager for Petco, and she loves to play with him and take him for walks. I told her that I worry about me dying and Mocha needing a home. My neighbor told me that she will take him home. Thank goodness.
I miss Greg.
You can't wait until life isn't hard anymore before you decide to be happy.

That's sad. I can't claim to have known Gregg as a flesh-and-blood being but I enjoyed his posts, his explanations, his attitudes, his opinions.
My sympathy to those closer to Gregg whose loss is so much greater.
