An observation and comment about the number of members - I posted a picture yesterday 3pm, and in a bit over 12 hours it garnered >700 views. We don't have 700 members. Either we have a whole lotta lurkers, or a ton of bots, or some folks that read through a thread many many times, or space aliens, or sumthin. Weird.

Various bots, including Google, are running all the time, which would pick up a great deal of hits. Also, after the bots find them, they end up on Google images, or Bing images, or some other search engine. Then, various searches not happening here are hitting the image as well, along with all of the bots trolling the search engine images (so, other bots, and probably Google bots, trolling Google images).

We do have lots of lurkers, I know we do, I just know it!

Do this:

Go to the Board Index page and click on the headline for "WHO IS ONLINE" down at the bottom. Then click "Display Guests" and you can see all the lurkers and what they are looking at (in general terms, like 'reading a thread in the Sportsball forum').

I think maybe that accounts for the 700 views.

'Course, most of the lurkers are members of Congress, university presidents, major media companies and banks, people like that. George Soros and Taylor Swift hate to actually log in, so you can only see when they're lurking.

also too, on a page refresh, or page revisit cause the thread has new posts, i believe the view counter increments, it's not unique views.

ISTR that we had one or two smilies with clown themes: running around with big floppy shoes, or piling into a small car.

Yeah, I forgotted why I got rid of those. Probably because we had a revolt when Musk took over Xitter, and we also too had lots of angry at Zark Muckerberg. Fogbow was suddenly anti-social-media. I quit Xitter and Faceplant totally myself, but that's not a good reason. I think I have to update the extensions first. Lemme work on it.
