I forgot to mention we have more champagne but only 2 glasses so there will be sharing of the glasses and exchange of bodily fluids. :biggrin:

So,

This week I and my colleagues got devastating news . At the end of the school years, our building is one of 6 they are closing permanently. The largest district in Kansas is low on money.

We found out Monday night at the Board meeting and then got our fuck you packets Tuesday after school.


We all still have jobs but that is not the issue.

They do not care that we build communities and love our students fiercely.

Also, in what other business does someone who has been in the business for 25+ years with a Master's Degree , have to worry about what they will be teaching and where they will be teaching???


Clearly we are NOT doing what is best for kids OR teachers.

Stupid "efficiency" experts! I hope there is a groundswell of support for keeping your building (and the other five) open and the Board reverses itself. Education is not something that is improved by consolidation, the more points of contact with the community, the better.
