Judging from comments to this tweet, for years before now Romney toed the Republican line and supported cuts to the IRS budget.

Assuming that's correct, he's entitled to only a tiny smidgeon of credit for this obviously correct statement.

His reputation for being a reasonable goo-goo politician is mostly undeserved.
