So do I!! Another one I always mute is the kid Caleb from Shriner's telling his story. It's old and annoying and the "adorable" blanket is ugly.

Add the 5 minute long mournful ASPCA commercials to that list.

I didn't see where she's MAGA, but apparently WaPo did a front-page(!) story on her. She's foul-mouthed, opinionated, self important, and "Christian." And she admires Roseanne Barr for speaking her mind. I'd admire someone who speaks their mind if their mind contained anything thoughtful, insightful, important, etc.Luke wrote: ↑Mon Jan 15, 2024 1:32 am Insane. I've heard that they play this over and over with no break in Hell. Turns out the lady is a MAGA. Watch how not only she, but the background singers too, give rainbow hands on the name of the product. The happy postman with the side effects warning is amusing.

Too also, I'm not impressed by her singing.
(And a lot of the comments are about the expense of the drug and side effects that can be horrendous.)

I'm sorry, I didn't mean to jack the topic. But guess I'm not the only one who hates the Jardiance ad. I'm going to start a topic for it. Foggy, if you want to move these comments over...

The Right Stuff closing theme, again by Bill Conti. I would fast forward the DVD repeatedly just to hear this.

When we were kids coming home from school, "Batman" reruns were always on. My little sister, in her playpen (remember those?), would sing the theme song. Her first word was "Batman". She says she has met other people who say that was their first word too, probably for the same reason.

So you're implying that Korngold stole the theme from Star Wars for Kings Row?

Exactly!!!
In the music world, we call it borrowing, the highest form of flattery. John Williams has borrowed from others as well, including John Williams. I still love his movie music.

Yeah well Kings Row was only last century.
Star Wars was not only 'long, long, ago' it was also 'Far, far, away'.

Whether it is Kubrick's Full Metal Jacket, or the show Tour of Duty, or Devil's Advocate, it's still the Stones.

Excellent!! I love these guys. I also loved Pinky and the brain cartoons and their co-stars The Animaniacs, including their theme song.
May the bridges I burn light my way.

I'm surprised this has not come up before. The original Battlestar Galactica theme. Nostalgia ahoy.
I love it because its really slow and builds up to a crescendo, which is totally unlike other themes of the era. And I loved the show, of course.

On a completely different mood...
To this day I get a charge when I hear "BY THE POWER OF GREYSKULL!"
Honestly a couple of years ago I sat down and watched the whole of Season One of that show and, for me, it still holds up. For a show that was really about selling toys, it was ahead of its time in treating the Cast of the show as real people with relatable reactions to what was going on. For example, Prince Adam mentions several times that he is really tired of being He-Man and getting no respect from his Father, and he gives up the power in one episode to tragic results. And the rest of the cast were likable, with flaws.
Season Two descended into slapstick sadly, but I have good memories of the show and they held up to an adult viewing.

This is terrific and so on-brand for Virgin Air. Brilliant move, every gay person with a disposable income's ears perk up hearing the La Cage aux Folles anthem. I have been flying Virgin since it started, the lounge with massages and manicures was awesome and the food was great. Good reminder.
