'It's my money!' Trump is trying to shake down a pro-MAGA think tank for 'millions'

The America First Policy Institute is a pro-MAGA think tank whose aim is to craft policies around the political agenda of former President Donald Trump.

And, according to Rolling Stone, Trump believes that it owes him "millions" of dollars for supposedly making money using his branding.

According to the publication's sources, Trump has been fuming that the think tank has been raking in big checks and not giving him a cut of the action.

The report claims that Trump is particularly annoyed with Brooke Rollins, a former White House domestic policy aide who runs the think tank and whom Trump believes is becoming rich by sponging off his reputation.

During a televised performance on Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve with Ryan Seacrest, Green Day changed the lyrics in one of their most popular songs to criticize former President Donald Trump.

Frontman Billie Joe Armstrong altered “American Idiot” lyrics from "I'm not a part of a redneck agenda" to "I'm not a part of the MAGA agenda."

It’s not the first time the band has taken jabs against the politician. Their first major performance of the anti-MAGA version happened in 2019 at the iHeartRadio Music Festival in Las Vegas, according to Billboard. Before that, at the 2016 American Music Awards, the band yelled "No Trump, no KKK, no fascist USA" during a performance of the song "Bang Bang."

After Trump's indictment and mugshot in August, Green Day sold an “Ultimate Nimrod” shirt with the slang insult from their 1997 album cover over Trump's booking photo.

Green Day released the protest song “American Idiot” in 2004 as its first single from the album of the same name and takes aim at then-President George W. Bush, the Iraq war and American media.

Liz Cheney has responded to Donald Trump’s repeated false claims that she destroyed most of the evidence from the House select committee investigating the events leading up to the Capitol riot on 6 January 2021.

The former president alleges this was done to stop him from preparing a defence case for his upcoming federal election interference trial for the charges brought against him by Special Counsel Jack Smith.

That trial is still scheduled to begin on 4 March 2024 in Washington DC. Mr Trump continues to claim his actions are covered by presidential immunity and arguments will be heard on 9 January regarding that.

The former president made his most recent claim on the evening of 1 January, writing on Truth Social: “Why did American Disaster Liz Cheney, who suffers from TDS (Trump Derangement Syndrome), and was defeated for Congress by the largest margin for a sitting Congressman or Congresswoman in the history of our Country, ILLEGALLY DELETE & DESTROY most of the evidence, and related items, from the January 6th Committee of Political Thugs and Misfits.”


Ms Cheney, perhaps one of Mr Trump’s fiercest critics in the Republican Party, responded on Tuesday morning (2 January), noting that the committee’s full 800+-page final report and all of its supporting materials are available online for anyone who wants them.

He does not care if anyone believes it or not. All he wants is for people to be talking about him. He will be throwing og bullshit for the next year just luke he has been doing for the last year. Its not like he has any money for advertising or will have people carrying his rallies live this time, or he is doing anything remotely interesting so all he has is saying outrageous shit so the news will mention him.

When you realise that not even he believes his shit, he is a lot easier to ignore.
