Halloween Movie Fun

Everybody every year does their list of favourite X-mas movies, and I'll admit I watch some of those.

But before we get there, there's a holiday that also has a tradition of movies. Most are not to my taste, I'm not much for blood and gore in movies outside of a very narrow few, but these should prime the pump.

What are your go-to Halloween movies?

Here's the ones we try to watch in the 2nd half of October every year.

The Ghost And Mr Chicken

Fright Night
https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0089175/fu ... t_ov_st_sm

Google search for Three Stooges Halloween, there's a bunch of shorts

Stephen King's Silver Bullet
https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0090021/?ref_=fn_al_tt_3

The Mrs and I have taken up watching the Hocus Pocus movies, too.

Not specifically Halloween, but American Werewolf In London I think is an excellent movie.

I've never liked scary movies. Fortunately my husband was in complete agreement with that.

That said, both of us loved Hocus Pocus and I definitely have to watch that before Halloween. I have Disney+, so I really need to watch Hocus Pocus 2 also. That's about as scary as I can do.

I should get out my CD - "The Classical Halloween Collection - Classical Music of Doom, Dread, and All Things Wicked!" Of course you can't really sit through an hour of minor key, doom & gloom music. A little goes a long way.

1962 Carnival of Souls I find creepy
First seen it on TCM when I still had cable
Production was 3 weeks, $33,000.

ETA. In regards to doom & gloom music, there is a lot of organ music. But the pipes and pedals on the organs fascinated me.

Another one, not scary but the scenery of fall leaf colors always makes me think of Halloween.
With Shirley Maclaine, Royal Dano, Jerry Mathers, John Forsythe. Those are the ones I can think of off the top of my head.

The Trouble With Harry

Too, also I like
Arsenic and Old Lace

The Univited. Old one, starring Ray Milland. One of my all-time favorites.
