Doesn't much matter. He may not hold the role but he will be in charge until he is holding up the ground. The company will not be able to do anything he does not approve. He just won't have to sit through meetings to tell folks yes or no.

Rupert can let Lachlan act like he's in charge and try to signal that he's get to keep driving the boat after he dies, but when he does return to ambient room temperature, the Estate is getting split among at least 4 of 6 siblings who fekkin hate each other, and I suspect they destroy it in a few years.

Growing up in small town Wisconsin and Iowa, and now living in Bloomington, MN (basic suburbia in my area), it was very eye opening to see how skimpy and revealing the outfits were of the women strolling the avenue.

Yep, I live in the red hell hole that is SWFL and there is a major homeless problem. The police are always raiding homeless camps. There was an abandoned strip mall that provided shade for the unhoused. They set up camp behind it, out of view to passers-by. The city tore it down.

Since you live in SW Florida you'll know exactly where this happened.

My grandmother lived in Bonita Springs at the Corner of Imperial and Tangerine, when Imperial was a street quiet enough for a 6 year old to play on his skateboard in the middle of the street. Her house was razed when they made it "Imperial Parkway" and basically a highway.

But back in the day it was kind of literally the edge of civilization. It was the only house on the south side of Imperial, Tangerine from Imperial south (which is now Pawley from Imperail southward) was still not paved and was just a sand dune street.

But one summer I was out playing "in the jungle" and came across a clearing and there was a mule, teathered to a piece of driftwood, a tent, campfire and little hispanic girl about my age but who didn't speak any English. I was excited because at first I thought I'd found a pony and I was goanna get my grandmother to keep it for me and I'd be able to ride the rest of my life my cool pony that i found in the jungle! The I saw the little girl. She cried out for a grownup and her father came and politely shoo'd me along, he spoke a little English and was trying to ask me to just leave them be. At dinner that night my grandmother explained that the migrants, come to pick the produce and they moved arond to follow the harvest. I have been a sucker for undocumented migrants since that day in about July of 1970.
