Also, it’s likely unconstitutional. I think the most the judge could order is no truthing about the case.

All good points, and telling him he can't post on his fake twitter would be a problem, legally.

But there are literally millions of Americans, not convicted of any crime, sitting in jails at any given time because they cannot meet the conditions of bail. Usually that means they ain't got the money, sometimes it means they can't pause an ongoing crime spree and sometimes it's just they won't do what the Judge told them they had to do to avoid waiting for their day in court in a jail cell.

Nothing legally problematic about it at all. In fact, I double dog dare you to find me another person on an OR bail who is accused under the espionage act, has access to large sums of money outside the jurisdiction of the United States, has a foreign country that would welcome him with no extradition likely, owns a private plane to get there AND WON'T JUST SHUT THE HELL UP ABOUT STUFF THE JUDGE SAID NOT TO SAY.

Put his 215 pound ass on a special reinforced jail cot for a few nights to see how he likes that. You can't tweet from the Birmingham Jail, you'd have to get out your crayons and write in complete sentences. It's something the lower half of the two tiered justice system lives with every damn day and I for one would just love to see him get a taste of it, be it ever so slight.

Grand jury investigating 2020 election interference meets after four-week break

CNN — The grand jury that handed up the indictment against former President Donald Trump stemming from efforts to overturn the 2020 presidential election is meeting Thursday at the federal courthouse in Washington, DC, after an over four-week hiatus.

CNN saw the jurors working for special counsel Jack Smith at the courthouse Thursday morning. The grand jury was last seen meeting at the courthouse on August 8, a week after the indictment was handed up against Trump. Smith said after the charges were announced that the investigation would continue, and the latest grand jury meeting is an indication it’s ongoing.

The grand jury has been hearing evidence from Smith’s probe into 2020 election interference for almost a year. The indictment includes six unnamed co-conspirators who could still face charges.

In a hearing last week, DC District Judge Tanya Chutkan rejected both of the vastly different trial dates proposed by prosecutors and the defense. She set the date for Trump’s election subversion case for March 4, 2024, one day before Super Tuesday.

CNN reported earlier this week that Smith’s investigation has recently focused on how money raised off baseless claims of voter fraud was used to fund attempts to breach voting equipment in several states won by Joe Biden, as well as the role of former Trump lawyer Sidney Powell.

Powell’s non-profit, Defending the Republic, hired forensics firms that ultimately accessed voting equipment in four swing states won by Biden: Georgia, Pennsylvania, Michigan and Arizona, according to multiple sources familiar with the ongoing investigation. Powell faces criminal charges in Georgia after she was indicted last month by Atlanta-area District Attorney Fani Willis.

The new details about the investigation indicate federal prosecutors are scrutinizing a series of voting breaches following the 2020 election that state investigators have been probing for more than a year. Smith’s grand jury in Washington, DC, is set to expire on September 15 but it can be extended.

Twitter turned over at least 32 direct messages from the former President Donald Trump’s account to special counsel Jack Smith earlier this year as part of the federal election subversion investigation, according to newly unsealed court filings.

The detail of what prosecutors obtained with a search warrant issued to the social media platform was revealed in a brief submitted under seal in May to the US Circuit Court of Appeals in Washington, DC.

Twitter – now known as “X” – was appealing a judge’s ruling that sanctioned the company for its delay in turning over the records from Trump’s account.

Former President Donald Trump’s public statements about the federal election interference investigation led to the harassment of witnesses, according to prosecutors with special counsel Jack Smith’s office.

Judge Tanya Chutkan, who is overseeing the federal case against Trump related to efforts to overturn the 2020 election, is weighing what to do with the special counsel prosecutors’ complaints regarding the alleged harassment.

The allegations were made public by the court Friday, after previous court filings indicated prosecutors were taking issue with Trump’s “extrajudicial statements” about the case.

“In its Motion, the government seeks to establish that Defendant has publicly criticized his perceived adversaries and is aware that this criticism has led to their harassment,” Chutkan wrote in an opinion Friday to unseal part of the discussions.
