Interesting smack down about racism from a Black judge, concerning a white official, against a Black mayor. Judge Wingate himself only collects art by Black artists so this surprised me. Maybe we are making some small progress on competence over color. Maybe a little?

JACKSON, Miss. (WLBT) - A federal judge is standing behind the man appointed to run Jackson’s water system, despite recent criticisms, saying he is “clearly the man for the job.”
On Friday, U.S. District Court Judge Henry Wingate handed down a response to the recent complaints brought against Interim Third-Party Manager Ted Henifin, saying most of the attacks were race-based.
Wingate, who is Black, said comments made at hearings earlier this month were “reminiscent of times when African Americans have been on the receiving end” of similar criticisms.
“They have no experience in water management, and no logical rationale [as to] why an African American would be better suited to fix a lingering problem which has gone unresolved for decades by past African American leadership,” he wrote.

Hampton City Manager Alex Cohilas said they have received approximately 227 reports of the flyers being distributed to homes and businesses in the city so far.
HAMPTON, Ga. — A week after a mass shooting devastated the community of Hampton, racially incited hate flyers were littered across the city in the early hours of Sunday morning, the city manager said.
Hampton City Manager Alex Cohilas said they have received approximately 227 reports of the flyers being distributed to homes and businesses in the city so far. He said that number will likely rise as they still have people calling in.
11Alive spoke with a resident in the community who shared a flyer that showed the pictures of the four mass shooting victims, with text below the photos that appeared to described the senseless killings to be motivated by one race on another. 11Alive has chosen not to share a photo of this flyer out of respect for the victims' families.
Other versions of the flyers, as described by Cohilas, depict an antisemitic tirade along with what appears to be corn kernels inside a bag.
Another flyer distributed in the community said "White Unity" with the phrases "Defend Your Race" and "Love Your People" depicted on the flyer. A photo of those flyers was shared by a viewer with 11Alive and can be seen below:

Just for weight so they can heave them onto yards instead of having to get out and actually hand them to people or put them on their door. Popcorn is cheap, comes in huge bags and doesn't get nasty in the rain like rice does. Dried beans are another favorite.

I've had adverts in baggies with small pebbles put in my driveway. Usually for lawn or maid services.

Ahmaud Arbery's so called "criminal history and probation" were for actions these white boys would argue for, not against, if it involved one of their own. IE: carrying a pistol on school grounds.
In 2013 Arbury was an adult, had graduated from that high school the year prior, and came to the school to attend a basketball game. Details of the arrest and trial are few, but he was given a five year probation which seems a bit harsh for someone with no priors, and for doing what many white 2A adherents would say is their Right.
In 2017 he was arrested for attempting to steal a TV from Walmart. Again the details of the events are few, but clearly the judge thought it was a minor offense when he extended Arbery's probation instead of jail. Considering how large flatscreen TV sets are these days, how exactly would someone try to shoplift one? Something isn't right with the story.
But, neither "criminal" action warranted a death sentence by a vigilante.
Except in a small town.

Off-Duty Alabama Cop Allegedly Bloodies Black Man’s Nose and Mouth, Then Threatens Him with a Gun for Reportedly Talking to His Daughter. He Has a Startling History of Abuse.

An Alabama officer will spend his next two years behind bars after a judge convicted him of assault among other charges for hitting and threatening a Black man while he was off-duty.
Max Ryan Dotson, a lieutenant for Sheffield County Police Department, was charged in March and later found guilty of third-degree assault, reckless endangerment and menacing during his bench trial.
Lauderdale County District Court Judge Carole C. Medley sentenced Dotson on Friday to 12 months for the third-degree assault charge, 12 months for the reckless endangerment charge and six months for menacing, according to WAFF. He was found not guilty of harassment.
In December 2022, Dotson approached Demarcus Key and alleged he had said something to his daughter. Key kept insisting that he said nothing to Dotson’s daughter and did not even know her. The two get into a verbal altercation that quickly turned physical. Then Dotson stepped back and pulled his gun, according to court documents.
Key was struck multiple times in the face and left with a bloody nose and mouth. The off-duty cop also threatened him with a gun, according to civil rights attorney Harry Daniels.
Dotson was arrested on March 28 and booked into the Lauderdale County Detention Center but released the same day on a $1,500 bond. He was also placed on administrative leave following his arrest. The cop reportedly will serve his sentence at the same jail.

This.He Has a Startling History of Abuse.
This has to stop.
There should be NO cops with a startling history of abuse.
They should be drummed out as soon as a pattern emerges.

I don't know how many of you have seen the various videos from the brawl on the boat dock in Montgomery Al. It was quite the circus that broke down along racial lines...
While there was a lot of criminal action by both sides, a small group of redneck (drunk white men) initiated the whole melee.
I guess they thought they were in a Small town.
