X -Where Twitter goes to die.
He isn't looking to name it "X" to make a swastika. Good grief. Stop looking for swastikas on everything.
He is doing it because that's the name he had for Paypal, and he got booted out for insisting on it. He is obsessed with it. His other obsessions were killing the company and are doing the same thing now. He also wanted to convert everything to Linux and that does not have a swastika.

Elmo really likes the letter X. He named one of his children X. Literally.

Okay, as if I didn't already know the dude was a wackjob.raison de arizona wrote: ↑Sun Jul 23, 2023 4:22 pm Elmo really likes the letter X. He named one of his children X. Literally.
Musk started dating singer Grimes in May 2018. She gave birth to their son, X AE A-XII, in May 2020. X is now 2.
X was originally named X Æ A-12, but “Æ” and “12” violated California law for not being part of the English alphabet, forcing his parents to change his name.

Twitter made one massive impression and changed the way we communicate. Now, X will go further, transforming the global town square.
X is the future state of unlimited interactivity – centered in audio, video, messaging, payments/banking – creating a global marketplace for ideas, goods, services, and opportunities. Powered by AI, X will connect us all in ways we’re just beginning to imagine.
For years, fans and critics alike have pushed Twitter to dream bigger, to innovate faster, and to fulfill our great potential. X will do that and more. We’ve already started to see X take shape over the past 8 months through our rapid feature launches, but we’re just getting started.
There’s absolutely no limit to this transformation. X will be the platform that can deliver, well….everything. @elonmusk and I are looking forward to working with our teams and every single one of our partners to bring X to the world.

Good luck chasing after Facebook and associated services. May I ask where you intend to recruit the manpower? Perhaps Truth Social will have some programmers fleeing that sinking shipraison de arizona wrote: ↑Sun Jul 23, 2023 7:49 pm Twitter CEO.https://twitter.com/lindayacc/status/16 ... 47329?s=20Linda Yaccarino @lindayacc wrote: It’s an exceptionally rare thing – in life or in business – that you get a second chance to make another big impression. All that "transforming" going on and you still can't edit a tweet.

Seriously, I think they are misjudging what their clients really want.sugar magnolia wrote: ↑Sun Jul 23, 2023 8:03 pm All that "transforming" going on and you still can't edit a tweet.

He's got big plans.

Meanwhile, @elonmusk is claiming Twitter will be half the world financial system.
He’s either a pathological liar or entirely divorced from reality. Pick one.

If Elmo gets his rebrand – perhaps better labeled a debrand – this will surely be the X-it point for a significant tranche of Twitterers who say "F-it, I'll fire up my little-used-yet Threads account for most of my content and see how it goes."
Then Twitter goes X-tinct. That $44B isn't producing a great ROI!
The piece by Paris Marx (Disconnect blog) linked in the tweet inside Suranis's post is an interesting pocket history of Musk's idiocy and nastiness over the years. It doesn't mention Elmo's attempt to intsert him and his know-all ignorance into the rescue of the Thai footballers, but that sickening episode meshes with his egomania and unawareness of his own huge limitations.

still a bird for me on Firefox and Microsoft Edge at 5:54 a.m. here in Minnesota. New and weird name must be rolling out slowly or something.
