Among them: They had not properly reconstructed the RAID storage array used by the county when creating copies of the hard drives, which left them unable to access files that otherwise would have been readily accessible.
Wait... this kinda makes it sound like they handed them a bunch of individual disks (or disk images) from a RAID array and expected them to reconstruct it? Heh.. not an impossible task by a long shot for an experienced crew, but if this is indeed what they did.. is a pretty sneaky bit of trolling.

Though I guess it could also mean that the auditors, when making copies, made individual images of the RAID drives, maybe by pulling one disk at a time and processing it? Again, not an impossible thing to reconstruct from and it would explain their complaint of 'the county did not explain their system!'.. but really shows just how incompetent they were at understanding what they were looking at.

NO NO NO. The problem was that the machines from which they were going to copy the files didn't have a drive that would accept the 5 1/4 inch floppy disks that the Cyber Nunjuks had gotten on sale at a Fry's going out of business sale, so they just held the disks up against the other computer's hard drives, just like you see on all the spy shows on TV and in the movies, expecting that to copy the data.

I wonder what legal basis he thinks he has to audit a 2+ (3?) year old election :brickwallsmall:
A day after Trump said in a statement that Georgia should follow Arizona's lead, former Georgia state Rep. Vernon Jones, a Trump supporter who is challenging incumbent Republican Gov. Brian Kemp in next year's GOP primary, proposed an audit Wednesday.
"Georgians still have questions about irregularities found in the 2020 election and they deserve answers," he said in a statement. "We must get to the bottom of all of this and other irregularities to restore trust in our election process. If Mr. Kemp refuses to demand an audit, then I will when I am elected to replace him."

In reality, Cyber Ninjas technical competence, or lack thereof, is not what it actually going on here. Their owner wants to be a player in the Trump world and is using this to advance that. They post things like data being deleted to show off for their primary audience in Florida and get some Rump-lovin. Since it was a PR thing, the only reason for actual evidence was to make it look like they at least did something. So, they just picked some little thing figuring that nobody would question it, especially their audience (and they would be correct on that count).

Where they are incompetent is thinking the sloppy attempt would go through unnoticed and that they timed it when the county board was already seething about the router bs.

The reason they do this is they know that the former guy and his minions don't care to see actual facts anyway. They only want goodspeak.

Can the county sue the senate for the associated costs of getting replacement machines?

Or the cost of evaluating how secure each machine is to decide if it must be replaced?

Federal law is very strict about machines as they should be.

No lawsuit should be necessary, but the senate doesn't give a fuck.

I think they should just provide them with a stack of Post-it notes and a handful of #2 pencils for their next election. If you act like 2 year olds, we'll treat you accordingly.

Fann supposedly indemnified the County against such a loss.

Time for the county to send the bill from Dominion for replacements to Fann.

:snippity: It’s unclear how much it might cost to replace the machines. Maricopa County signed a $6.1 million contract with Dominion Voting Systems in 2019, though that contract is for three years and includes machines that weren’t turned over to Cyber Ninjas.

It’s unclear how much it might cost to replace the machines. Maricopa County signed a $6.1 million contract with Dominion Voting Systems in 2019, though that contract is for three years and includes machines that weren’t turned over to Cyber Ninjas.

Fortunately for the county, it likely won’t be on the hook for the cost of leasing new machines. Under an agreement that Fann signed in April, the Senate indemnified the county against “against any and all expenses it incurs as a result of the Subpoenaed Materials being damaged, altered, or otherwise compromised” while under the control of the Senate or its contractors, “including without limitation expenses associated with procuring new equipment, certifying any such new equipment for use for elections in Arizona, and re-certifying its current equipment re-certified for use for elections in Arizona.”

Fann was not immediately available for comment. :o

Maricopa isn’t the only county that will have to replace machines after turning them over to a company that’s part of Fann’s audit team.

Fulton County, Pennsylvania, allowed Wake Technology Services Inc. — which is one of the subcontractors working with Cyber Ninjas in Maricopa County — to conduct an audit of its tabulation machines after the November election. Dominion, which is also Fulton County’s vendor, concluded that the county violated its licensing agreement with the company by giving an unaccredited and non-certified company access to the machines without any authorization from Dominion.
Looks like taxpayers have to fork over hundreds of thousands to $6.1 million in additional costs for this fraudit. Imo, it's very likely that taxpayers will have to foot the total $6.1 million.

So much for repubs being fiscal conservatives.

Vernon Jones was in cahoots with Ali "Alexander" Akbar on this. Even the invite form was shared by the two of them. Georgia reporters need to remember that during the campaign. Independents hate this and even a lot of Republicans are getting worried that focusing on this bullsh*t instead looking forward to the next election is going to bite them in the ass. So maybe they should keep dead-ending and going for it. Nothing is going to change, they will just piss off their marks.

Now the only way this will have a happy ending with lessons learned is if the individuals behind the audit, as private citizens, foot the bill.

Haven't been following the AZAudit Telegram chats since the weekend, nothing's even happening. But the AZ Audit Watch Chat has 22,807 messages, that's insane. In another group, they are very angry that AZ might go home before the fraudit is done. If anyone wants to send an email, here they all are. :confuzzled:

Does the Legislature intend to end their Session before the Audit is completed? Kelly Townsend has said it would be a dereliction of duty to end the Session. Now it sounds like she is saying it is not a dereliction of duty as long as we plug some holes first and her bills pass.

And what if fraud is found and the machines have been manipulated, what then?

Please take some time to call your Legislators today to find out who does not support banning the machines. You may also want to inquire about whether they have watched Mike Lindell’s documentaries, whether they have read Matthew DePerno’s case filings in Michigan (all available on his website), whether they have followed Dr. Douglas G Frank findings (all available on Youtube)

I read the letter by the AZ SoS; she's essentially ordering Maricopa County to completely toss their voting machines.

That's a very expensive decision. And a very expensive decision.

The Trump-backed "audit" of the 2020 election in Arizona is sinking deeper into madness, as Arizona GOP Chairwoman Kelli Ward this week threatened her own party's officials with arrest.

The Daily Beast reports that the audit has been driving divisions within the state GOP even deeper, and Ward is now pushing for the arrest of Republican election officials in Maricopa County if they refuse to comply with the auditors' demands.

"There have to be consequences," Ward earlier this week. "There could be arrests of people who are refusing to comply."
