Yes, and they did a good job. Safe and sound and under the ministrations of ol' Wifehorn.
This is gonna be a better experience than the first one.

Poor Ol' Rooster
That's for sissies.
Here's the thing - I have a metabolical and diabolical resistance to the nerve block, I think it's called Exparel. It is supposed to last three days, and lemme tell ya, it does indeed work at first. That's why I was wondering where mah wing was: I couldn't feel my arm at all. Unless I was looking at it, I might as well be without it.
But the Exparel wears off early on me. It doesn't last three days. It doesn't last two days. I already have the use of my left hand and arm, and I have to be really careful today, because, as y'all know, the first 48 to 72 hours are critical for getting a good start on my recovery.
And I didn't want to take the oxycodone until the Exparel wore off and my shoulder really started to sting.
Which happened about 1 a.m. this morning, and became really painful by 2:00, whereupon I took two oxycodones and went back to sleep. And it is a major surgery, so that's expected. It's better than a bullet in the shoulder, like the one them Rebs shot into my great-great-grandfather in the Civil War. It's painful, but the pain will go away and I'll have a new shoulder.
But the key today is immobilize and protect, and let the wound heal. If I do those things, which are not terribly difficult, I'll get a good start on my recovery.
The more I learn about this planet, the more improbable it all seems.

Poor Ol' Rooster
Thanks for all the videos and good wishes, everyone.
However, this time around it is not so bad. I have less pain, but I am still immobilizing it and icing it down, and I will be boogie boarding in the Atlantic Ocean by August, or my name isn't ... wait, my mom sewed a nametag on the collar of this shirt, but I can't reach. Whatever.
Today is the last day of being hooked up to the ice machine all day. Tomorrow, we'll see how it goes, but if there's no swelling, I don't need the ice machine. I have a habitat range of 6 feet, when connected to the machine.
I got the sling adjusted just right. I know what to do to get a positive outcome. Ol' Wifehorn is an angel, but I am working on reducing her workload.
And that's my report for today.
