I don't think I'm ever going to get over being appalled by those assholes' behavior. Kudos to everyone who went above and beyond the call of duty.

Nor should you ever. Our Capitol building was attacked for the first time in over two centuries. The defiled the Cathedral of Democracy.

Personally I'd crucify the lot of them.

NEWS: The U.S. Capitol Police have issued a statement to members of Congress expressing "profound disappointment" with McConnell and McCarthy's positions on the Jan. 6 commission, citing the "trauma" that officers endured that day.

That’s nice but we have no real idea about the trauma and injuries inflicted on the Capitol Police because they are engaged in some kind of conspiracy of silence, at least by the leadership. Unacceptable.

I did hear there was a statement by one of the families of an officer who committed suicide. Time for truth tellers.

Pennsylvania woman at insurrection called lawmakers criminals, saying: 'They need to hang.'

https://www.ydr.com/story/news/2021/05/ ... 168111001/
A Pennsylvania woman, who had allegedly forced her way into the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6, demanded that House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and other lawmakers be handed over to insurrectionists, shouting: "Bring them out now. They're criminals. They need to hang."

According to the FBI, Pauline Bauer, of Kane, went on to tell Metropolitan police officers barring her entrance to a hallway: "Bring Nancy Pelosi out here now. We want to hang that f---ing bitch. Bring her out. We're coming if if you don't bring her out. What are you trying to do, protect a f---ing Nazi?"

She was arrested today along with another McKean County man, William Blauser, on several charges related to the riot. They are among the 42 people in Pennsylvania who have been arrested in connected with the insurrection. :snippity:

The Reuters article had the best headline that I saw. Other headlnes from our MSM said shit like "House passes Jan. 6 commission bill over strong Republican opposition." Actually 35 Rs broke ranks and voted for the bill, including all 10 who voted for impeachment. Our Ohio Senate candidate Tim Ryan gave a fiery, impassioned floor speech for the bill.

If anyone has a list of the 35 Rs I want to see it.

That’s right, here’s a list with the names who voted to impeach in bold

Peter Meijer took over Justin Amash’s seat. His family owns a huge grocery store chain and he has said he fears for his family’s lives due to MAGA death threats.

Ahh... Meijer, or as those who grew up in West Michigan always called it, Meijer's (probably a holdover from when it was Meijer's Thrify Acres). It was the West Michigan Walmart before Walmart was in West Michigan. I still like Meijer much better. I do rather miss it around here.

Ah, the days of going to Meijer to buy some supplies for the boy scout camp. Lamp oil, hardware, electrical tape, cable ties, solder, Kotex.

OK, I’ll bite... what did Boy Scouts use Kotex for?

I was wondering if somebody would notice that one. They actually goes with the lamp oil. We used to use it for smudge pots. A soup can filled with 2 Kotex and lamp oil burns nicely for the campfire arena (or other ceremonial sites, as long as you make the proper safe area, of course). Because they are quite absorbent, you can just flip it for the next event, then swap the two and use the bottom one on top. I am well versed in how to make fire marshals very nervous.

Yep, we used them on the rescue squad for more than just GYN emergencies.

I can say from personal experience on the job, they get it done. We get far enough out in the mountains, nobody is coming to rescue. We had to take our guy about an hour and forty five to a clinic where he was eventually transferred to a regional hospital. All we could do was triage the wound, and keep him alert.

I've seen news clips and read that Republicans claim it wasnt trump supporters, but Antifa and BLM supporters who stormed the Capitol. Hmmmm. You'd think the Republicans would want to get to the bottom of that.
