Lather, rinse, repeat.

You are assuming a rinse cycle. I've observed they simply go from lather to lather.

I had an optometrist who actually said that to me. His words were, "I'm glad we live in the free state of Florida instead of those scaredy cats up north."

I thought about mouthing off, but I left, went home and called the office, telling them I wanted to change doctors in the practice (I found another doctor in the practice who used to run a low-income eye clinic in Miami). Turns out, when searching for the new doc, I saw that DeSantis had just made that guy some sort of chairman of eye stuff, SW Florida. Anyhoo, when I made the call, they asked why I was changing and my response was a polite "He made a political comment that made me uncomfortable. I no longer trust his judgement."

Fast forward a year later, I had an eye issue and needed to get in to see someone. If my new doc wasn't available, I'd have taken anybody else but that guy so I looked at their roster again. The practice had removed that blurb about Dr. Free State.

Guess I wasn't the only one who complained.

I don't consider this off topic at all. A lot of what's posted on this thread is supposed to be funny or light hearted but some of it is also meant to be thought provoking. I don't consider discussions along that line off topic at all. I live in a state where I feel like I'm surrounded by nothing but a bunch of whack jobs. Luckily, I know that the two people most responsible for my physical well being aren't among them but I worry about everybody else.
