No on rape, yes on sexual assault. Award is $2 million. Also yes on defamation. Award for defamation $1 million. $280,000 in punitives. There was another $20,000 for--something-- so there is a nice round number of $3.3 million. Holy shit.

But he advises them not to: "Not now, and not for a long time."

The judge DIRECTS them not to identify other jurors.

The jury verdict on sexual assault vice rape smacks of a compromise. That probably made the other verdicts easier for the juror(s) who didn't want to vote for the top (civil) offense.

So, at the margin I would have preferred "yes" on the first question, but the fact that it was "no" makes it harder to argue credibly that this was a politicized, knee-jerk jury.

Edit: I too strongly suspect that this was a compromise verdict.
