A 13-year-old boy opened fire in his Belgrade classroom on Wednesday morning, shooting dead eight fellow pupils and a security guard in a pre-planned attack and injuring seven others, Serbian officials say.

Key points:
Police received a call about the shooting in the Vladislav Ribnikar primary school
A seventh-grade student has been arrested
An investigation into the motives behind the attack is under way

Using his father's handgun, the boy fired first at the security guard and three girls in the hallway and then entered a history class and shot at the teacher and classmates, police said.

The teacher and six pupils were hospitalised, some with life-threatening injuries.

Mass shootings are comparatively rare in Serbia, which has very strict gun laws and has issued several amnesties for owners to hand in or register illegal guns.

But the western Balkans are awash with hundreds of thousands of illegal weapons following wars and unrest in the 1990s.

Me: the main problem is easy access to guns.. be they hand guns or machineguns (or the preferred instrument of killers the AR style) - yes this killer had 2 hand guns and a petrol bomb - but the petrol bomb isn't described as the cause of the deaths/injuries

Janette Mayo, 59, said the Okmulgee County Sheriff’s Office notified her on Monday about the deaths of her daughter Holly Guess, 35, and her grandchildren, Rylee Elizabeth Allen, 17, Michael James Mayo, 15, and Tiffany Dore Guess, 13.

The other three found dead are believed to be sex offender Jesse McFadden, 15-year-old Ivy Webster and 16-year-old Brittany Brewer. While authorities have yet to release a cause of death for the seven victims, Ms Mayo said the victims were shot by McFadden at various locations across his Henryetta property.

In a Facebook post, Ms Mayo indicated that her daughter was married to McFadden. Ivy and Brittany were named in an Amber Alert on Monday morning after disappearing while in McFadden’s company. The two girls were supposed to be going swimming at a creek with McFadden’s teenage daughter.

Meanwhile, records showed McFadden had been scheduled to appear in court on the same day that seven bodies were found.
All those children, what a POS. 1-3 shots in the head for each of them.

At least eight people have been killed, and 13 others injured, in a drive-by shooting in a town close to Belgrade, the second such mass killing in Serbia in two days, state television has reported.

Key points:
Police are searching for a 21-year-old suspect after an attacker shot people randomly with an automatic weapon
A Serbian government minister described the incident as a "terrorist act"
It follows a mass killing in Belgrade on Wednesday where eight people were killed

The attacker used an automatic weapon to shoot randomly at people near the town of Mladenovac, some 50 kilometres south of Belgrade on Thursday, the RTS report said.

Police were looking for the 21-year-old suspect, who allegedly fled after the attack.

Serbian Interior Minister Bratislav Gasic called the shooting "a terrorist act", the report said.

Kansas kindergartener shot while playing in the front yard: 'Someone knows who did this'
Police said they do not believe the shooting was a random attack.

A kindergartner was fatally shot while playing in the front yard of his Kansas City, Missouri, home, and police say it did not appear to be a random act.

Sir'Anthonio Brown, 6, was identified as the victim of Wednesday's shooting by a family member, according to KCTV. He was playing outside with a man, reportedly his uncle.

Several gunmen wearing masks walked up to the family's home and opened fire, local news outlet KSHB reported.

Police found 30 to 40 shell casings at the scene and located a maroon Subaru Legacy believed to be involved on Thursday.

We spent the last 2 nights in Plano about 15 driving miles from the Allen Premium Outlets. :?

Luckily our drive home this afternoon took us to the west and not past that mall.

Multiple people were shot, some fatally, at a mall near Dallas by a gunman who authorities believe was acting alone — and who is now dead — and at least nine victims were transported to trauma facilities, officials said Saturday.

A Dallas-area medical group says it is treating victims as young as 5 years old.

Authorities in Allen, Texas, responded to the shooting at an outlet mall in the afternoon, with ATF personnel on the scene at Allen Premium Outlets.

There was a search for a second gunman, according to a source, but police now say they believe the shooter acted alone. Police said an Allen officer killed the shooter.

Video from above the scene showed hundreds of shoppers exiting the area, many holding their hands up. The aerial footage appeared to show at least three bodies covered by sheets outside the mall.

Allen Fire Chief Jonathan Boyd said nine victims were transported to area medical facilities, but he didn’t specify the number of injured or dead because authorities don’t have an accurate count.

At a press conference Saturday evening, police said they would provide another update later in the evening in which they may provide the total number of casualties.

Allen Police Chief Brian Harvey described how the shooter was killed. “One of our officers was on an unrelated call at the outlet mall,” said Harvey. “He heard gunshots, went to the gunshots, engaged the suspect, and neutralized the suspect.”

Heidi and I are praying for the families of the victims of the horrific mall shooting in Allen, Texas. We pray also for the broader Collin County community that’s in shock from this tragedy.

8 killed and 7 wounded in Texas mall shooting. The gunman is also dead

Eight people were killed in a shooting at an outlet mall near Dallas, and seven victims are being treated at trauma facilities, officials said Saturday night. The gunman, who authorities believe was acting alone, is also dead.

Allen Fire Chief Jonathan Boyd said that at least nine people were sent to hospitals. “Of those that we transported, two have since died. Three are in critical surgery, and four are stable,” said Boyd.

Mrs.V's sister who now lives in California but previously lived for many years in Dallas tells us that she used to shop at Allen Premium Outlets frequently. She is upset by today's events there.

F&F was struggling a bit with covering this story, tried to play down the 2A and play up Abbott's mental health is the problem with the gun violence. Of course they didn't mention Abbott was cutting mental health budget. Then, that vile Rachel Campos Duffy jumps in with that discussion and mentions "weed" (yes, she used that word) contributing to poor mental health or some stupid nonsense like that.

I used to have a weekend gig at a Planetarium where we did "Cosmic Concert" shows. On Friday nights we featured Pink Floyd and on Saturday nights we featured Country music. Friday nights all the weed smokers showed up. No fights in lines, no interruptions during the shows, they were generally quiet, well behaved, the worst thing they did was bring snacks and sometimes drop chips and such on the floors which had to be swept up. But even that was at a minimum and we didn't consider it a problem because it was pretty rare and didn't take a long time for us to sweep up the few chips we saw on the floor.

Saturday night, totally different story. All the drunks came, fights in line caused security to sometimes have to kick people out, twice we had to call police to help get the fighters out. The drunks in the crowd often started hooting and hollering and causing the rest of the guests to get irritated at their behavior. We had to be careful not to spin the stars for that crowd after the first night three drunks vomited when the star movement started. Friday nights the star spinning was a favorite part of the show and not a single weed smoker ever vomited.

I'm not disparaging people who like country music, it was the ones who would drink. I would much rather have to deal with a weed smoker than a drinker any day of the week. People on the right who want to blame everything on weed likely never encountered anybody who actually was high on weed.
There's a lot of things that need to change. One specifically? Police brutality.

Also too, as far as we know yet, weed doesn’t kill brain cells like alcohol does.

In a study for the LA City Council, a sociologist tracked the dispensaries in other states that had opened vs bar opened in the same period. Here’s what they discovered:
Dispensary people followed parking rules, were quiet and respectful of the neighborhood, spent an average of 15 mins on the property and generally INCREASED property values in the neighborhood, after 1 year. Bar patrons ignored parking rules, were loud and disrespectful of the neighborhood ( lots of driving on lawns and peeing in public mentioned), spent an average of 2.5 hours on the property and generally DECREASED property values.

No one want to live near drunks.
