Yes. If you are working on a company network your stuff belongs to the company. So stop watching porn on company time, hardware, and networks.
Oh ya. A guy I know in Dublin was telling my group about how the Boss has called him into a meeting with employees about policy. When he said that he could look at anyone's emails at any time, the 2 people in the room who were conducting a not-so-secret-affair went white.

Hell I could look at any email when I was doing tech support for a pretty tiny company by looking at the Mail server.

So yes, its very standard. Honestly, I agree with it. "Privacy" is not a concern as a company could be liable for any illegal crap on their systems, so someone has to keep an eye on Emails and Pornography usage.

Villagers were among a group of Trump backers demonstrating at Gov. Ron DeSantis’ book-signing event Tuesday afternoon in Leesburg.

A long line formed for the event at BA group of supporters of former President Trump gathered in the bookstore’s parking lot, with flags and signs with Trump’s name.

Several were wearing Make America Great Again hats.ooks-A-Million at Lake Square Mall where DeSantis was signing copies of his new book, “The Courage to Be Free.”

However, a security guard at the mall told the Trump supporters they were not allowed to wear or carry anything with Trump’s name on mall property while the governor was there.

Acting on a proposal from Gov. Ron DeSantis, Florida lawmakers filed legislation Wednesday to allow the death penalty for adults who sexually batter children younger than 12.

The bills would put Florida at odds with prior U.S. Supreme Court precedent saying that capital punishment can only be applied in the case of murder. But the bill sponsors — Sen. Jonathan Martin, R-Fort Myers, and Rep. Jessica Baker, R-Jacksonville — are seeking a challenge of prior rulings.

A 2008 Supreme Court case, Kennedy v. Louisiana, and a 1981 Florida Supreme Court case were “wrongly decided and an egregious infringement of the states’ power to punish the most heinous of crimes,” the bills’ text reads.

DeSantis, when announcing his proposal in January, made similar comments.

“We do not believe the Supreme Court, in its current iteration, would uphold it, and so we are going to be exploring ways to facilitate some capital trials if you have the worst of the worst,” he said.

Florida statutes already say sexual battery of a child under 12 is a capital felony, but it has been effectively moot because of Supreme Court rulings barring the death penalty in such cases. The bills filed Wednesday say it’s the Legislature’s intent that the procedure in the statute, allowing for capital punishment, be followed.

This would likely result in more murders because, if they are facing the death penalty for the lesser crime, they would be less inclined to leave any witnesses. Considering that the consequences would be the same either way.

Given how they have increasingly been saying the quiet part out loud, I wonder how long till they introduce legislation defining child sexual assault as between man and boy.

My thoughts exactly. Rule of law should not depend on who is sitting in the Supreme Court at a given moment, ruthlessly overturning hundreds of years of precedence.

Go ahead, try and enforce this:

TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — Florida Sen. Jason Brodeur (R-Lake Mary) wants bloggers who write about Gov. Ron DeSantis, Attorney General Ashley Moody, and other members of the Florida executive cabinet or legislature to register with the state or face fines.

Brodeur’s proposal, Senate Bill 1316: Information Dissemination, would require any blogger writing about government officials to register with the Florida Office of Legislative Services or the Commission on Ethics.

Sure. Right after they register all their guns.

The Bill of Rights delineates the many forms of free speech in 1A, while the 2A starts immediately with regulation. So, form up those well regulated militias necessary to secure a free state, and then we can talk about the infringements you want to apply to people who want to redress their governmental grievances.

The event, which has always been open to the media, is not allowing them in at Snowflake Desantis’s insistence. Dallas GOP Chair: “We are not able to invite the media. That was the decision of Desantis’s team.”

Ron DeSantis loses his cool with a reporter after failing to answer a question on how his Ukraine policy would differ from Biden's

https://www.businessinsider.com/ron-des ... er=twitter
Ron DeSantis lost his cool with a reporter when challenged over how his policy on the war in Ukraine would differ from President Joe Biden's, amid speculation the Florida governor is poised to launch a 2024 presidential bid.

DeSantis was profiled Thursday by The Times of London, which was granted a relatively rare level of access to the Republican rising star. The Times is owned by Rupert Murdoch, whose Fox News network frequently interviews DeSantis.

David Charter, a US Editor at The Times, wrote that DeSantis showed a "flash of temper" when asked about Ukraine.

"I ask about Ukraine and he says that 'there's a critique of Biden, and I think I'm sympathetic to it in the sense that, is our policy just do whatever Zelensky wants? Or do we have a concrete idea of what we're trying to achieve exactly?'" Charter wrote.

"When I ask him how it should be handled differently, he refers to Biden being 'weak on the world stage' and failing at deterrence, but as that is not answering how it should be handled now, I ask again. DeSantis does not have anything to add: 'Perhaps you should cover some other ground? I think I've said enough.'"

In a recent appearance on Fox News, DeSantis criticized Biden after the president made a surprise visit to Kyiv to underline the US' support for Ukraine in battling Russia's unprovoked invasion.

DeSantis in the interview questioned whether Russia, which has menaced the West with nuclear weapons, posed a threat to NATO, and said China was a greater concern.

Some Republican lawmakers on the hard right of the party are stirring opposition to the Biden administration's Ukraine policy, saying that the president should be more focused on events at home.

This shows one of DeSantis's weaknesses. He doesn't control his temper well. He goes on the attack. DFO was able to get away with it. I just don't he does it as well, and it's not going to play well on the national stage.

I understand, in general, republicans get away with a LOT.

DeSantis appointee to new Disney oversight board suggested tap water could turn people gay

https://www.cnn.com/2023/03/03/politics ... index.html
An appointee to Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis’ new oversight board in control of Disney’s special tax district called homosexuality “evil” last year and shared a baseless conspiracy theory that tap water could be making more people gay.

On Monday, the Republican governor appointed Ron Peri, an Orlando-based former pastor and the CEO of The Gathering – a Christian ministry focused on outreach to men – as one of five people who will now oversee the Reedy Creek Improvement District, the government body that has given Disney unique powers in Central Florida for more than half a century.

DeSantis signed a bill in February that allowed him to replace the district’s existing board – mostly people with ties to Disney – with a five-member body that he hand-picked. The move to remove power from Disney comes nearly a year after the company spoke out against a Florida bill – which DeSantis later signed into law – to restrict certain classroom instruction about sexual orientation and gender identity.

A CNN KFile review of Peri’s past comments found that he frequently made derogatory remarks about the LGBTQ community.

“So why are there homosexuals today? There are any number of reasons, you know, that are given. Some would say the increase in estrogen in our societies. You know, there’s estrogen in the water from birth control pills. They can’t get it out,” Peri baselessly said in a January 2022 Zoom discussion, later put on YouTube. “The level of testosterone in men broadly in America has declined by 50 points in the past 10 years. You know, and so, maybe that’s a part of it.”

“But the big part I would suggest to you, based upon what it’s saying here, is the removal of constraint,” he continued. “So our society provided the constraint. And so, which is the responsibility of a society to constrain people from doing evil? Well, you remove the constraints, and then evil occurs.”

Testosterone levels in men have dropped in recent decades, and researchers are unsure why, but the drop is not 50%, and there is no indication that a drop in testosterone affects sexual orientation. Likewise, there is no evidence that estrogen in the water supply, for which birth control pills account for a statistically insignificant amount, affects sexual orientation. The claim that chemicals in tap water could turn people gay has gained ground with conspiracy theorists over the years, most memorably with fringe commentator Alex Jones, who said chemicals in the water were “turning the friggin’ frogs gay.”

In the same discussion, Peri called homosexuality “shameful,” linking it to disease.

“There are a lot of unhealthy effects of a homosexual lifestyle,” said Peri. “There are diseases, but it goes beyond that.”

Peri has also said that LGBTQ people “don’t have a stake in the future” because many do not have children, and he called gay people “deviant.”

In one discussion, he linked homosexuality to the fall of the Roman Empire – a fringe historical belief occasionally pushed by some Christian activists.

“Homosexuality was praised,” Peri said. “LGBTQ today is being emphasized everywhere, even on children’s shows. And so ultimately the Romans had become weak.”
Rome fell fairly shortly after it became Christian.

Florida courts could take 'emergency' custody of kids with trans parents or siblings — even if they live in another state

Katherine Tangalakis-Lippert
Sat, March 4, 2023 at 7:47 AM GMT+1
  • Florida Senate Bill 254 would grant courts emergency custody of kids who receive gender-affirming care.
The bill, introduced Friday, would also allow the courts to modify out-of-state custody agreements.
The bill would grant officials authority under the law that protects kids from domestic violence.
A proposed bill making its way through the Florida State Senate would allow the state "emergency jurisdiction" over children who receive or are "at risk of" receiving gender-affirming care — or if their parent receives it themselves.

Senate Bill 254, introduced Friday by State Senator Clay Yarborough, would grant the court authority to take emergency custody of kids under the same statute that protects them from domestic violence and abuse.

The state could take temporary custody of children if "it is necessary in an emergency to protect the child because the child, or a sibling or parent of the child" is "at risk of or is being subjected to the provision of sex reassignment prescriptions or procedures," according to the proposed bill text.

The proposed bill defines sex reassignment prescriptions or procedures as hormone therapy, puberty blockers, and surgeries or procedures that "affirm a person's perception of his or her sex if that perception is inconsistent with the person's sex" at birth.

The court would also be granted "jurisdiction to vacate, stay, or modify a child custody determination of a court of another state to protect the child from the risk of being subjected to the provision of sex-reassignment prescriptions or procedures," according to the proposed bill text. "The court must vacate, stay, or modify the child custody determination to the extent necessary to protect the child from the provision of such prescriptions or procedures."
