Some rank-and-file Republicans balked at a package of proposed changes to House rules that would enshrine concessions the speaker made to win support from ultraconservative members.

Speaker Kevin McCarthy raced on Monday to line up votes to pass a set of operating rules for the Republican-controlled House, toiling to tamp down defections from rank-and-file members who said he had given too many concessions to the hard right in the desperate and drawn-out process of securing his job.

Mr. McCarthy’s team was working on Monday afternoon to address concerns from more moderate Republicans, who said they could not accept the terms that the speaker had negotiated, many of which were becoming fully known only in the hours before the scheduled vote. It underscored the precarious balance that Mr. McCarthy must strike to appease the far right while maintaining the backing of a much larger group of more mainstream conservatives to pass any legislation on the House floor.

“We’re still fighting through it all today,” Representative Chip Roy, Republican of Texas and one of the lead far-right lawmakers who helped put together the legislation, told Glenn Beck, the conservative radio host, suggesting that the package of concessions and rule changes was still not final.

He's already said that its not mathematically possible for all the stuff they claim is on the laptop to have been on it, as it only had a 250 gig hard drive and he copied 220 gigs of Data. Which would include Windows etc. They don't want to hear it.

John Paul Mac Isaac, the Delaware computer shop owner who obtained the infamous Hunter Biden laptop, insisted on Newsmax Thursday that newly discovered deleted data from a hard drive could not have come from the files he had under his original custody, because the "math doesn't add up" on the size of the files. 

"I know there's been a lot of speculation about 450 gigs of newly discovered deleted data off of a hard drive, claiming to come from my original custody," Mac Isaac told Newsmax's "National Report."

"I argue that statement, mainly because the original laptop only had a 250 gig drive, and I was able to recover 220 gigs of data off of it…the math doesn't add up."

Mac Issac added that there have been many items done through "Photoshop, creative people out there that have been doctoring things and putting things out on the internet to muddy the waters claiming to be from the laptop." 

But he told Newsmax that while he's not saying the newly discovered data isn't real, his concern is that "it is stated that it is reportedly coming from a drive that was in my custody, and it's not physically possible."

The laptop could easily be traced to confirm or deny that Hunter Biden ever owned it. The serial number can be traced to the manufacture, distributor, retailer and if Hunter Biden really bought it there ought to be a credit card receipt. And if "he paid for it with cash" which is not something grown up people do for things that cost a grand give or take, it should still have been sold at a Best Buy somewhere near where someone can prove he was in the habit of being during the few months around when it was purchased.

Unless he had enough foresight to have someone buy the laptop for him so when he dropped it off to be repaired and never went to pick it up, it couldn't be traced back to him. Despite having apparently every fact of his life that wasn't going to church stored on it.

Nothing, NOTHING would please me more than Democrats following this line of evidence in hearings, leading up to proving that the laptop was never even owned by Hunter Biden and the proof is right there, while Gym Jordan screams "you're out of order" desperately at a witness who is showing everyone that the computer was originally bought in Kansas or somewhere on a day that Hunter Biden was in court in Los Angeles.
