Former President Donald Trump said he wishes Elon Musk well in taking over Twitter but he doesn’t plan to return to the platform that banned him.

"I like Elon and I wish him a lot of luck," Mr. Trump, who is considering a 2024 presidential campaign, told Fox News Digital Friday. "I hope he does well with it."

He said he didn’t think Twitter could be successful without him.

“I am staying on Truth. I like it better,” Mr. Trump said of his TruthSocial platform, which has a much smaller user base than Twitter.

Twitter permanently suspended Mr. Trump following the Jan. 6, 2021, riot at the U.S. Capitol, cit­ing the risk of fur­ther in­cite­ment of vi­o­lence.

“If I choose to run, I will only use Truth," Mr. Trump said. "When I put a Truth out, it goes all over the place anyway. Everyone who is on Twitter and on all the other places, they all put it out anyway."
