I think some of these titles are for search engines, but I prefer short human-friendly ones.p0rtia wrote: ↑Fri Sep 02, 2022 7:19 amYeah, that.Reality Check wrote: ↑Fri Sep 02, 2022 12:23 am "Spy hard" sounds like the title of a porno flick.I apologize for requesting the thread rename. Next time I will leave well enough alone.
The first purpose of a title is to indicate the content. IMO, any title for this thread that doesn't start with Mar-a-Lago, which is how this issue is most frequently identified these days, doesn't do its job (cf "Pravda"). And while I"m here, yes, the kitchen-sink style for titles is also a weak choice (cf "Pravda").
I don't mean any of this personally. I've made a living as an editor for 30 years, so I see it has my responsibility to weigh in (again), if not for this thread, but going forward.

Just my arrogant, easily amused opinion but I like the clever titles. As long as there are keywords that get the job done, I'm good. Besides, sometimes it's the clever word play that my brain remembers when I search. I'd never remember Mesa Colorado but I remember Big Adventure.
And I love the Spy Hard title. Since the movie was a Leslie Nielsen vehicle, you know it fits this gang of idiots.

Since we're discussing best practices, maybe such a discussion could occur in its own thread.
So only commentary germane to this one are posted here.

I apologize to Orly for being so blunt in stating what is obviously just a personal preference. I vaguely knew that spy hard was a reference to a parody movie. This is a serious and very important topic so I though the satirical title was somewhat inappropriate for this particular topic. I follow this topic and several feeds on Tweetdeck when there is breaking news so at least for me TFB is providing an important service.
I will not post about it again here. I might start a Fogbow best practices thread elsewhere if there is enough interest. Back on the old board we kind of had such a thing but it was not written down.

There's more specificity, but still no details. Like "book," but not the title of the book.
I counted 13 top-secret documents.
And no pee-pee tapes.
Let's see if he can be bothered to file a Rule 41 petition for the press clippings, etc.
Edit: My quick count was off.
Re: Spy Hard - Trump's Classified Doc Theft: FBI Subpoenas, Searches & Seizures - Mar-A-Lago, DOJ, Garland, GOP Madness
What jumped out to me was the hundred, maybe thousands of items listed as
"US Government documents without Classification Markings"
'Cause I'm pretty sure he wasn't supposed to have any of those, either.

So the obvious question is where are all those documents missing from the empty folders marked as secret and top secret?Kendra wrote: ↑Fri Sep 02, 2022 10:21 am Here it is.

They keep getting what they wished for, and it keeps making it worse for them. According to the cultists on the bird site, the president can deem them personal documents and take them as souvenirs.
The volume is notable, but I'm guessing few if any go the heart of the Espionage Act claim, i.e., national-defense information. But they would satisfy the concealment claim.

It is quite possible they are the documents listed elsewhere in the list.Reality Check wrote: ↑Fri Sep 02, 2022 10:54 am So the obvious question is where are all those documents missing from the empty folders marked as secret and top secret?
But the lack of strategy continues to harm him, as asking for this is going to set off yet another round of things getting worse every time he gets what he wants.

"Empty folders marked CLASSIFIED"
"Empty folders marked "Return to Staff Secretary / Military Aid"
Where is the content?
Did the former guy pull content and messily fill up boxes, ye know, the guy who complained about the FBI photo?

You can also see on the inventory the personal property of Trump that DOJ seized as evidence because it was mixed in with classified documents, thereby showing his personal possession of those documents.

And the real pisser is that Trump could have had access to most of these documents including some of the classified ones by following the procedures outlined in the PRA. But this f---ing asshole thinks he was and still is the king and does not think he has to follow rules like every other former president. He has never followed rules and he isn't going to start now.
Every time something is released it is more damning to the orange asshole.

2. This is going to get a lot of attention too:
43 Empty Folders with "CLASSIFIED" Banners
Empty
Must be fairly alarming to U.S. intelligence community conducting the damage assessment.
Now think about how Trump's legal team is trying to keep this info from the FBI/ODNI.

That's the stuff that goes to NARA to be included into the not confidential part of the presidential library.
The former guy can go to the NARA storage to write his memoire.

Right. What happened to those documents? Maybe they’re among the documents actually seized and maybe they’re not. Who knows? What I do know is there is a shit-ton of work now to de done for every single one of those classified documents because they have all been compromised.Reality Check wrote: ↑Fri Sep 02, 2022 10:54 amSo the obvious question is where are all those documents missing from the empty folders marked as secret and top secret?Kendra wrote: ↑Fri Sep 02, 2022 10:21 am Here it is.

And the folders that say “Return to the staff secretary/military aide” are just further proof that he thought the rules don’t apply to him.

Certainly. So many levels, eh? However, the hundreds/thousands of unclassified US Gov docs are nonetheless Not His. It pleases me that they were taken. Perhaps the issue will not be pursued, but it would be interesting to know what the conversation was about returning all the _unclassivied_ cods.bob wrote: ↑Fri Sep 02, 2022 11:02 amAccording to the cultists on the bird site, the president can deem them personal documents and take them as souvenirs.

Yes, but the point is it didn't go to NARA. After 18 months it was still at MarafuckingLago. And no doubt scattered all over the Eastern Seaboard at his other hellholes. No attempt At All to return it.
