- instructions on how to build nuclear weapons
- list of all our agents in foreign countries
- location of Jimmy Hoffa's body
- top secret formula for Coca-Cola
- treasure map signed by Blackbeard
- the real birth certificate
- Putin's cell phone number
- complete details on Area 51
Haven't seen that officially released yet, though. Probably later this afternoon.
But I probably should not be contributing as you most know I have a FBI file. I'm John Lennon like and you should likely steer clear.

Close, but it needs some fake gold plating to be truly Trumpian.

The group of congressional leaders charged with reviewing the most sensitive intelligence information has asked the Biden administration for access to the documents seized from former President Donald Trump’s private residence in Florida, according to two people with direct knowledge of the request.
The inquiry from the so-called “Gang of 8” comes as lawmakers from both parties seek to learn more about the unprecedented investigation into the former president. And it suggests that Congress is unwilling to be a bystander in the political and legal fallout following the FBI’s Aug. 8 search of Trump’s Mar-a-Lago estate in Palm Beach, Fla.

A long time ago, when I was in college, I had a part-time job in a Catholic bookstore in the local mall. One night when we were closing up, we noticed that one of the big, gilded Bibles was not there. None of the staff had sold it. We realized that someone had stolen it. We were surprised that anyone who wanted a bible would steal on.Foggy wrote: ↑Mon Aug 22, 2022 11:38 amOff TopicA math teacher in my high school told us that a quarter of people never steal anything, 50% will steal if they are certain they won't be caught, and the remaining quarter will steal anything they can get their grubby hands on.
I'm trying to decide where Trump fits in that assessment ...
Then we realized that it was probably not a "believer" but an opportunist who saw an expensive book that he/she could sell or pawn somewhere.
Brother Kevin, who ran the store, said that is someone really wanted a bible but couldn't afford one, he would have given them one. Not that one, but a common inexpensive bible that contained all the same words, but not the gothic illustrations, gilded pages and lots of pages for family trees.
I imagine that the thief was one of those in the latter 25 percent.

Back in Oct 2020, we went through this when the dotard tweeted he was declassifying "everything" about the Russia/Mueller matter. But then, when news orgs started suing for the docs, Mark Meadows & the DOJ were like, no, he didn't mean it/he was lying again.
CNN's coverage is at https://www.cnn.com/2020/10/20/politics ... index.html and NBC (note it's now-banned from Twitter Paul Sperry again):

The White House chief of staff told the judge to ignore Trump's tweet saying he had authorized the declassification of "any & all documents" related to the Russia probe.

When President Donald Trump tweeted that he had authorized the full declassification of all documents having to do with the Russia investigation, he didn't mean it literally and didn't intend to make information from the Mueller investigation public, White House chief of staff Mark Meadows said in a court filing Tuesday.
"The president indicated to me that his statements on Twitter were not self-executing declassification orders and do not require the declassification or release of any particular documents," Meadows said in a sworn court statement.
Trump tweeted on Oct. 6: "I have fully authorized the total Declassification of any & all documents pertaining to the single greatest political CRIME in American History, the Russia Hoax. Likewise, the Hillary Clinton Email Scandal. No redactions!" Trump was responding to a tweet from conservative journalist and author Paul Sperry, who had written, "When all the documents are finally declassified, and all the redactions removed from reports, the nation will see that the FBI and CIA not only knew the Russia 'collusion' allegations against Trump were a political dirty trick, but that they were in on the trick."

In his court declaration, Meadows said Trump's tweet wasn't about allowing the nation to see the documents; rather, it was about Attorney General William Barr's being able to release them. The statements were "related to the authorization he had provided the attorney general to declassify documents as part of his ongoing review of intelligence activities related to the 2016 presidential election and certain related matters," Meadows said.

Readers Digest version of NYT
Trump and Mark Meadows planned to hand FBI file to conservative journalists three days before leaving office: report
Tom Boggioni
August 20, 2022
According to a deep dive by the New York Times, Donald Trump and his former White House Chief of staff rushed to get private FBI files redacted so the former president could declassify them and turn them over to journalists sympathetic to his administration.
The report states that work was completed just three days before Trump left office but was abandoned by Meadows after he was advised he and government officials could be in conflict with privacy laws.
According to the report, "In Mr. Trump’s last weeks in office, Mr. Meadows, with the president’s blessing, prodded federal law enforcement agencies to declassify a binder of Crossfire Hurricane materials that included unreleased information about the F.B.I.’s investigative steps and text messages between two former top F.B.I. officials, Peter Strzok and Lisa Page, who had sharply criticized Mr. Trump in their private communications during the 2016 election."

It appears Donald Trump has filed his lawsuit related to the search warrant. A case has appeared in Florida federal court under the heading: Trump v. United States Government.
No documents associated with it yet though.

Marcy Wheeler (@emptywheel) has a long thread of interesting observations.
Edit: I don't know why my post shows a tweet from the middle of the thread. It's worth it to scroll up to the top and read the whole thing.@emptywheel
Uh, "pro se" means, Trump's going it alone.
Re: Trump's Classified Docs: FBI Subpoenas, Searches & Seizures - Mar-A-Lago, DOJ, Merrick Garland - GOP Madness, Fallou
One of Wheeler's main points is that Trump is appearing pro se and that, because his lawyers haven't appeared as counsel, they are not subject to the obligations of an officer of the court.
But she appears to be completely wrong about this. The opening sentence states that Trump is moving "through his undersigned counsel," and the pleading is signed by all three lawyers. That's an appearance.
Puzzling that she got this wrong.

In regards to the executive privilege claims,
1) since he is no longer an executive, how can the privilege still exist for him?
2) wouldn't any executive privilege claims related to documents produced during his presidency have to originate with the existing executive, Joe Biden?
3) wouldn't those be official records subject to the presidential records act?

Yeah; a bit over the skis here (likely in a rush to be first).chancery wrote: ↑Mon Aug 22, 2022 5:42 pm One of Wheeler's main points is that Trump is appearing pro se and that, because his lawyers haven't appeared as counsel, they are not subject to the obligations of an officer of the court.

There appears to have been no notice of appearance filed. But it is entirely possible the notices were filed, but had not yet hit the electronic docket. Regardless of the cause, such notices should (and will) be filed. Which undercuts much of the analysis.
Having said that, the motion is whiny, and meant to appease the client, and the clients' base. E.g.:
A seasoned magistrate, who regularly signs warrants and presides over litigation about warrants will not be impressed. On January20,2021, President Trump and hisfnmily left the White House. They moved back to their home at Mar-a-Lago in Palm Beach, Florida. Mar-a-Lago is a historic landmark, a mansion with 58 bedrooms and 33 bathrooms on 17 acres of land extending from the Atlantic Ocean to the lntracoastal Waterway - hence the name, which means "sea-to-lake.' 'Consistent with every modem Presidential transition, staff conducted the move on a condensed timeframe. That move, like home moves undertaken by most Americans, involved boxes.
The motion says the government said privileged documents may have been taken. Which is inviting the government to concede a special master is needed.
