Whew, got that out of mah system.
Now there are 5 pages of Unread Posts. I have two doctor's appts. today and a weightlifting class, and I have to fix a lady's printer in the neighborhood. I'll never catch up to the forum.

Re: Poor Ol' Rooster
Roostery hijinks, moron style.
Packed mah swimsuit. Water temperature was a perfect 70°. Surf about 1'. So OK, no bodysurfing at that height, but basically a big warm bathtub, with sharks. But not any sharks nearby. Super nice, ol' Wifehorn spent almost an hour in the tiny surf and loved it.
I, of course, forgot I lost 40 lbs. this year and my swimsuit was too big. I would have been arrested if I had worn it on the beach. I wore shorts. I could have swam in the shorts, but my leather belt would suffer. If I didn't wear the belt I'd be arrested again. I was wading up to mah kneebones, dammit.

Re: Poor Ol' Rooster
Your new rule is fine Foggy, and there's a song that goes with it - Groove is in the Heart.
And the first question that may come to mind besides where did she get that rubber band backbone, or just how whack is Bootsy Collins, might be how relevant is this +30yo video today? I would say Very. But YMMV.
If nothing else, enjoy the Friday Morning Wake-up tune. Think of it as a way to the weekend going.

Another suggestion: Assume others mean well, or don't assume they mean badly.

Re: Poor Ol' Rooster
I told you we were an adorable elderly couple.
I was not feeling well at the time the photo was taken, but I got through it.
Ol' Wifehorn had a great vacation with all the insurance people from our FMO, and this was just the beginning.

Since Foggy locked down his newest post about making nice in these here parts, I will post what happens if we don't play nice.

Re: Poor Ol' Rooster
I bought a new swimsuit. Not exactly this one, but close, black with rainbow colored horizontal stripes.
.
Ol' Wifehorn says, "That means you're gay."
I told her, "No, baby, this is Black Rainbow. It means I'm a gay black man."

Re: Poor Ol' Rooster
People think it's all scallops and pastries, losing a lot of weight. Well, it's not always wonderful, lemme tell ya.
Do you realize I have to give most of my clothes to charity? Full disclosure, I have worked many hours at North Raleigh Ministries charity shop, so all our donations go there. It's a massive thrift store, a collaboration by a group of local (Christian) churches, they are very involved with providing food and clothing to the poor in our area. I did volunteer work with my boys, mostly I went through piles of donated electronic devices, figuring out if they still worked, cleaning them up for sale, and pricing them for the sales floor.
It's gonna be a hundred degrees today. Let's do this thing.

Re: Poor Ol' Rooster
I did that thing, and a lot more too also, and then I collapsed after supper and didn't have the energy to sit in a chair for an hour and a half, so I ducked out of the Virtual Meetup again.
But I'm not dead, I'm just ... adjusting ... to my new body. I jumped out of bed at 5:30 a.m. and made covfefe, and my Wednesday fitness class starts at 8.
And maybe I'm trying a little too hard to get ready for me and ol' Wifehorn to be empty-nesters, which we will be in August.
Those gutter guards are a pain in the ass, y'know.

Re: Poor Ol' Rooster
I'm too angry to comment on the SCOTUS decision, but later.
This afternoon, I have to go help my girlfriend the elderly lady who lives in the neighborhood. She's in her 80s, and since the last time I saw her just a few weeks ago, she fell and broke her hip.
She's in a rehab place and she can't pay her bills using her tablet, so she needs some computer help. I told her I'd come up to Wake Forest and help out.
So she says something like what would she do without me and I said, "This is going to help when I get upstairs and see St. Peter. I'm gonna say, 'Didja see how I took care of that sweet old lady, huh?'"
But later I remembered ... I think she's Jewish, which means neither one of us believes in St. Peter for a Noo Yawk minnit.

Re: Poor Ol' Rooster
So if'n you've been reading the Old Folks thread, you know that I pulled my biceps muscle just a tiny little bit, but it's not gonna get all better unless I stop using the dang thing.
Do you know how hard it is to stop using your left arm when it doesn't even hurt none? My life now is a constant series of reminders: Don't use that arm. But the arm feels fine and I have an imaginary life to live, and a whole boatload of honeydews that aren't going away any time soon.
Infuriating.

Wear a sling. I kept forgetting that I’d dislocated my shoulder until I got the sling.

Re: Poor Ol' Rooster
Torn biceps (we knew that). But no treatment, no surgery, no PT, no rehab, no restrictions, no shirt, no shoes, no service, no woman no cry. No MSG. Gluten-free.
I can swim. Weightlifting? Sure, no restrictions means no restrictions. If something hurts, stop doing what hurts.
Otherwise, go live your life.
I'm down with that.

Edit: Oh, and the damage is ... permanent. It's called the Popeye deformity.
