Not at all uncommon, Anthony Williams PAG has done that the last few times because his hearing time was late afternoon but the transport van with the days appearances delivers everyone by 8am and he didnt like being early...on a practical level staff isn't going to spend the considerable time (and risk injury) to enter, fight, subdue, cuff and hobble a defendant merely to drive them probably solo since by now the van would be gone) to a hearing. Plus the arguably prejudicial aspects of presenting a defendant in that condition...better to let the consequences happen, whatever they might be.pipistrelle wrote: ↑Thu Aug 22, 2019 6:41 pmHe’s Caucasian.TheNewSaint wrote: ↑Thu Aug 22, 2019 6:30 pmPeople in pre-trial detention can do that? Lots of crooks try that trick. They act up, refuse to appear, hurt themselves, etc. and then claim that their right to a speedy trial was violated. It never works, but people desperate to not face the music will pull every jailhouse lawyer stunt there is when they're looking at a lot of time.scirreeve wrote: ↑Thu Aug 22, 2019 6:55 pmGood question but I remember Ammo and cRyan doing that in the Bundy case so seemingly so. MLAM is not actually in pre-trial detention. Bail has been set for the new charges but he is being held for probation violation on his previous conviction.TheNewSaint wrote: ↑Thu Aug 22, 2019 6:30 pmPeople in pre-trial detention can do that? If you stay in the jail, you maybe get a hot lunch instead of a cold baloney and cheese sammich.

I put the 'fun' in dysfunctional.
Re: Veterans on Patrol #OperationBackyardBrawl
MLAM is still in jail. Has showed up for his last couple of court appointments. This is from his most recent felony burglary charges. I find it strangely amusing and I don't understand it. Do they think he has previous convictions under a different name or what?

Sounds like they are searching for and/or confirming prior convictions and maybe other jurisdictions who may have pending cases/investigations that they can trace to him.scirreeve wrote: ↑Wed Sep 11, 2019 10:03 pmMLAM is still in jail. MLAM has a mental competency hearing on Sept. 24. He is still in jail.

I think in some circumstances the courts aren't bothered. He has representation in court so at this stage it's OK not to turn up. If his presence was required by the court, he'd be brought there. But I'll wait for a lawyer to explain it properly.
Going to Tibet now and deleting Facebook you have my email address.
Re: Veterans on Patrol #OperationBackyardBrawl
Arizona Rule 11 Mental Competency Laws
A defendant suffering from a delusion such that he could not trust or confide in his counsel would be incompetent by this standard, since he is unable to "assist in his own defense."
Re: Veterans on Patrol #OperationBackyardBrawl
It looks like he has a new charge against him. I can't find the case yet but bail was set at $15k for the new charge. He can't bail out though because he is being held on a probation violation from another case. It is in Pima County Justice Court and the case number is CR199113847FE. I'm guessing he did something while in jail. I assume the "FE" means felony.

Sounds like MLAM's past is quickly catching up to him, and checkered it has been. FWIW, I think they should have done a full competency hearing and eval on him when this started. I think he spent way too much time out in the AZ heat with his brain on drugs and alcohol.
The fact that you sincerely and wholeheartedly believe that the “Law of Gravity” is unconstitutional and a violation of your sovereign rights, does not absolve you of adherence to it.

And also "ego." Which can be the most dangerous drug of all.Notorial Dissent wrote: ↑Thu Sep 26, 2019 5:29 pmI think he spent way too much time out in the AZ heat with his brain on drugs and alcohol.
This bramble need not be traversed.
Re: Veterans on Patrol #OperationBackyardBrawl
MLAM has his mental competency hearing tomorrow morning after his analysis etc. If deemed competent he has a court hearing the next day.
Re: Veterans on Patrol #OperationBackyardBrawl
Wondering what happened. I did notice a change of counsel on 10/10

Re: Veterans on Patrol #OperationBackyardBrawl
I saw that - not sure what that was about. Probably due to MLAM being an asshole (just guessing). He has next court dates Nov. 18 and Nov. 20.
Re: Veterans on Patrol #OperationBackyardBrawl
M:AM's new attorney withdrew the request for a mental competency hearing. Maybe that is why MLAM changed attorneys?
