it was f'in stupid for the crew to exceed their permit, especially now. And they knew it, because that's the reason they were there filming in the first place.
I didn't see anyone storm Pelosis' office, nor was the crew walking off with a lectern or other tourist souvenirs. No broken windows, no beaten uo cops.

I'm going to go out on a limb and say this is a big nothing burger. Boebert or someone like her decided they didn't want the crew there and called in a threat in retaliation for the J6 hearings/trials. Some of the crew cracked wise, didn't vamoose quickly enough and, voila, terrorist puppet insurrection.
It's hard to deny the parallels. Both sides, you know.

Bear in mind -- 4 Capitol Officers took their own lives after that day. You can't expect their comrades to bend the rules for a comedy show. It's not fucking funny to them. GTFO!
I'm not comparing them to the Capitol Police, from whom I have not heard anything but the Joe Friday arrest report.
I'm talking to Tucker Carlson and the Reich Wing who are comparing a tv crew with a puppet to 10,000 odd tourists exercising legitimate political discourse.

You don't have to consent, but I'm gonna tase you anyway.
I don't want them to bend the rules, they deserve what they get. It wasn't an insurrection, or even comparable to one, however.

I expect them to be "fined fifty dollars and made to pick up the garbage, and never to be seen in the vicinity driving around a van full of garbage again". Because let's be real, this ain't exactly The Alice's Restaurant Massacre here...

I agree it is an unfair comparison
but

This. 100%. Remarkably tone-deaf and room-blind of them.
But the sunshine aye shall light the sky,
As round and round we run;
And the truth shall ever come uppermost,
And justice shall be done.

I can not imagine, if things are applied fairly, the repercussions being all that bad. Staying late in an area you originally had permission to be in so you could get extra work done?
What wondered me more was the fact that the Capitol Police does obvously not make a sweep thru the facility to kick overstayers out but were called and then made arrests. Although the last assignment of the team may have kept them in some politicians office past closing time, left the office and rather leaving the building immediatly they remained in the hallway to wrap up the recordings.

Jan 6 defendant Phil Weisbecker seeks leniency at sentencing.. arguing he was fooled, because top Trump aides didn't speak up sooner to correct Trump's false election. Instead waiting for Jan 6 Cmte hearings to do so
Weisbecker "stood no chance at truly grasping reality"

He’s not joking.
