Feds warns UFO enthusiasts against storming Area 51: The military 'stands ready'
:snippity:
More than 400,000 people have signed up to “storm Area 51” through a Facebook event page. More than 450,000 others have also indicated interest in the event.
:snippity: .
https://thehill.com/blogs/blog-briefing ... rming-area
Now that will be a traffic jam in that corner of the desert. Is any one preparing to evacuate all those that forget to bring their beer water bottles along and collapse during the storm upon the ramparts? A few police checkpoint around the area will reduce the problem for the Army. And the police can pick up some travellers , not drivers, and report some broken car windows until evening.

I almost clicked "interested" the other day. I now see that two people I know are appearing. 1 going and 1 interested.
I doubt he is actually going.

Milyun moran march in DC comes to mind. Of all the places I can think of to visit that time of year, Groom Lake doesn't EVER make the list.

OMG! The "interested" in going Kimberly is my step sister!!! She has five children under 14 (all lovely, even she is lovely) so I doubt that she will be going. Still!

Daughters rode inside inflated pool as mom drove it home atop her Audi Q5, Dixon police say

https://www.chicagotribune.com/news/bre ... story.html
A mother in Dixon, Ill., trying to transport an inflated pool from her friend’s house to her own Tuesday had her two juvenile daughters ride inside the pool she drove with it atop her SUV, police said.

Jennifer A. Janus Yeager, 49, has been charged with child endangerment and reckless conduct in connection with the alleged incident, Dixon police said in a news release posted on their Facebook page.
:snippity:
During their investigation, police learned that Yeager drove to a friend’s house to inflate the pool and then had her two daughters ride inside of the empty pool to hold it down on their drive home, according to the news release.
To me, it would have been easier to borrow the pump or compressor rather than transport a fully inflated pool on top of an Audi Q5.

If you actually go to the FB page and read the announcement for this, you'll see it's just a big joke. Not only do they tell people to do the naruto running, their plan includes getting all the participants named Kyle up front to throw rocks.

It's a joke, see? Like going to Washington to levitate the Pentagon.

After reading Rachel's philippic about how she has driven 'blacked-out' for almost as long as she's been driving--no, it sounds quite typical for Rachel.

Rachel and other proliferate nut job bs artists are doing their best to make Idiocracy come true. They use social media to dumb down society, by being influencers to the gullible. It's a problem. Almost anything that Rachel posts would fit well in this thread.

In the Chicago area, the Des Plaines river has a number of low head dams. They're only a few feet up.

People are always drowning at them because, while they dont look dangerous, there is a strong back roll that sucjs you in and you can't get out of.

The dams on the Upper Mississippi look massive, but there's no current seen at the gates. People have been known to fish from their boats near these gates, despite strong warnings. These dams have what is called "roller gates." The water rolls under the gates, not over the top of them. There is a huge undertow that you cannot get out of. A few years ago a father and his son were fishing at Dam #8. Somehow the boat tipped over. The father was found a couple of miles downstream, his body snagged on a tree root. The son was never found. Odds are his body still right there, stuck in the undertow.

They had a satellite photo of Groom/Area 51 on NBC news this morning - acting like it was some big deal. I've explored that area via Google Maps Satellite View for years. You get to see a few runways and some buildings. Big hairy deal.

Bud Light is offering free beer to any alien that makes it out of Area 51
The world is ready to finally see the secrets hidden inside Area 51. And if one of those secrets happens to be living aliens, well, we have good news -- they'll be greeted with free cans of Bud Light.

Anheuser-Busch, the maker of Bud Light, initially posted on Twitter, "We'd like to be the first brand to formally announce that we will not be sponsoring the Area 51 raid."
However, the brand quickly backtracked off that alienating claim, saying, "Screw it. Free Bud Light to any alien that makes it out."

— Bud Light (@budlight) July 17, 2019
The company even went as far as to make a label for its Area 51 Special Edition Bud Light.

There's just one catch: Anheuser-Busch is asking for 51,000 retweets to make it happen. The tweet still has a way to go.

Very clever but I am seriously concerned that this will cause aliens to decide that we are a bunch of tasteless hicks. Usually when I have guests, I don't serve them the water from the toilet.

BUT... But... but ... can the aliens prove that they have been residing longer than 18 years in Area 51 to be on the sure side of the drinking age?
