If you climb into the duffel bag, then they will have to take you on vacation to the beach.

Stray Cat Moves Into Church And Humbly Accepts The Worshippers’ Praise

This is Junior — a handsome stray cat who appeared at this parish in Brazil one day a few months back, and decided to never leave.

Clearly, this kitty considers himself to be kind of a big deal.

No one knows for certain where exactly Junior came from, but he's decided that the São Sebastião Parish, in the town of Atibaia, is now his home. It was a magnanimous move on the kitty's part.

You see, Junior seems to think that those he graces with his sweet kitty presence should consider themselves nothing short of blessed.

To drive that point home, here's a photo of Junior having "donated" himself in the church's collection basket:

..................................

"He always goes to mass," the São Sebastião Parish wrote.

Definitely a cat. Just accepting what is his/her due. :rotflmao:

Tricksy is at home while we’re up at FEMA Camp 626. We have critter sitters checking in several times per day to feed, water, clean litter, play, etc. It takes a few visits for Tricksy to warm up to the change and come out, but I told them where to find her just to make sure she was safe.

Mrs. V. has been in Connecticut for several days now. The cat and I have settled into a routine. Once the sun is up the cat heads out to the upper porch for a sun-drenched pre-breakfast nap.

Image

Later the cat, warm and well-rested, will find me and loudly demand breakfast. She will then eat a bit, go out for more naps and then eat a bit more. If I happen to be in the kitchen she will ask for snacks.

Cats are so funny.

Tulip yelps for food early in the morning and also as soon as I get home from work. Here is the drill: I obey and put food in her dish right away. She ignores the food and then demands love and attention, petting, me telling her how wonderful she is, scritching under her neck, etc for at least 1/2 an hour. Then, she eats the food she screamed for 1/2 an hour earlier.

I guess I should feel honored that once the food is actually in the bowl, she would rather have attention and snuggles before eating. Priorities, right?

Tricksy is the same. W2 got a pair of grooming gloves that trap hair. He and Tricksy groom for 15 minutes every morning with her purring loudly. Then they play bird-squid-stick for 15 minutes. Then she eats. But eating consists of pulling a mouthful of gushy food out onto the vinyl mat, mashing it down, then licking it up.

She’s figured out (no doubt due to my lectures on the topic) that I won’t play The Red Dot 🔴 if I am eating. But if she asks nicely, I might play once I’m done. I’m the only one who plays it correctly. She chases the Dot for 5 minutes, then stalks it. Slowly. Glacier speed. I keep it in one place for 10 minutes sometimes. If I stop, she comes over to complain we aren’t finished. She’ll jump on on my chair, walk over me, and sit next to the Dot Machine on the end table. She nudges it, picks it up by the string, pats it, all to tell stoopid that we are still playing. Last night, 90 minutes. Thank God and Amazon I got the USB rechargeable version!

Tricksie is gorgeous! And, she sounds like loads of fun, too. The red dot is one of Tulip's favorites too, and she also loves to stalk it. My arm gets tired sometimes from holding it in one place or moving it super slowly while she stalks. :bighug:

I am so glad I took a chance with her, too. I think we both have made out like bandits. She has blossomed into the most affectionate cat I have ever heard of. One of these days I am going to make a video of one of our daily snuggle sessions. She is just too cute and beyond charming. I think you would just love this special kitty.

I was ready to accept her regardless of whether she turned out to be affectionate, standoffish or anything in between. I am delighted that she took a chance on me, too, and came out of her shell.

Tricksy is wonderful, except for the... hairball thing. She started this about 2 months ago. What can I do? (She gets a daily brushing with the grooming gloves.) she’s both long and short haired.
