1. I find it a bit odd that a 17 year old boy would keep such meticulous records. 1.1667 conquests / month.

When Elizabeth Ann Jaramillo, 16, was reported to have been abducted by her 30-year-old ex-boyfriend on Sunday, Kirby police issued an Amber Alert. Even as the alert went out across the San Antonio area and in other states, the Texas Department of Public Safety refused to put out a statewide alert for the missing girl, the chief said.


Ivy accused the DPS of turning its back on a kidnapping because former illicit lovers were involved.

"On a stranger abduction, everybody would have been involved," Ivy told the San Antonio Express-News for its Tuesday editions. "This case dropped a notch in importance because the bureaucrats said, `Oh, that's a family deal.' They discounted this because we knew who this suspect is."


Police said witnesses at an apartment complex in Kirby, on San Antonio's east side, told them Barrientez assaulted a man in the courtyard near the unit where Jaramillo lived with her aunt, then forced the teenager at knifepoint into a four-door black Hyundai. A warrant was issued for Jaramillo's arrest.


About 5 p.m. Monday, a female caller identifying herself as Jaramillo called police to say she had left willingly with Barrientez. Her cousin, Pauline Valdez, told the Express-News that the family got a similar call about 10 minutes later.

"She said `What have you done?'" Valdez told the newspaper. "She said, `If you really love me, you'll tell everyone that this was a big joke.'

"I love her, but I am not going to do that," Valdez said. "I know what I saw, and I know he took her by force."
