Told Trump will announce a three-week CR BUT that things still remain very much in flux. That said at least some Hill aides are preparing their bosses to respond to this overture from the president.

I think Trump will cave and endorse at short term CR. He will bluster about the wall nonsense but once the government is open it will not be shutdown again. Pelosi has completely checkmated him.

I worked with a woman years ago whose husband was a Marine at Camp David. He said the Clintons were always late and treated everyone like shit. He said George W. Bush was always on time, had friendly words for people, remembered everyone's kids' and spouses' names and asked about them, etc.

Flight Attendants Are ‘Mobilizing Immediately’ Over Shutdown, Union Says

On Friday morning, air traffic controllers missed their second paycheck due to the government shutdown. Many called out sick, resulting in delayed flights at some of the nation’s busiest airports, including LaGuardia, Newark, and Hartfield-Jackson in Atlanta. Now, flight attendants may also walk out. Sara Nelson, president of the Association of Flight Attendants-CWA, told New York on Friday afternoon that she “just finished” recording a video message to members urging them to get to the offices of their congressional representatives until the shutdown is resolved.

“We’re mobilizing immediately,” Nelson said. Asked if this meant that flight attendants will not be going to work, she responded, “Showing up to work for what? If air traffic controllers can’t do their jobs, we can’t do ours.”

Midway through a reporter briefing/lunch just now, Nancy Pelosi got up, excused herself, and took a call. Asked whether a deal had been struck, she simply said she couldn’t comment on it but was hopeful.

Congressional leaders, Trump reach tentative deal to temporarily reopen government without wall funds, according to Hill officials

Congressional leaders and President Trump have reached a tentative deal to temporarily reopen the government and continue talks on Trump’s demand for border wall money, Capitol Hill officials said Friday.

With Trump’s approval, the pact would reopen shuttered government departments for the three weeks while leaving the issue of $5.7 billion for the U.S.-Mexico border wall to further talks.

The officials spoke on condition of anonymity to discuss private deliberations.
