:snippity: ... we damn sure do not need someone with even remotely questionable reputation getting mixed in with Mueller's work, and we damn sure don't need anyone who is not legitimately part of the investigation team to be doing some "investigation" of his own. :snippity:
It could be worse. Consider this - given that for some time, Cohen's phones were being monitored (apparently call logs, not actual speech content), it would seem that there is already a phone communication history record between Avenatti and Cohen in the hands of the Justice Department.

Would that not require Mueller to find out what Avenatti knows or doesn't know? Or is willing to make up, invent or divulge on behalf of his client?

Of course if Avenatti and Cohen did everything via email or in writing instead of via phone, the records (emails, texts, letters, etc.,) are in the hands of Barbara Jones. How much of that she will consider relevant is still in question.

Avenatti has only been involved in the litigation part of the Stormy thing, not negotiations. I have no idea what relevant information you'd expect to turn up. Might have been a couple of calls or emails early on, but Cohen lawyered up for the Stormy case pretty quick, so probably not that much.

Calls/emails between Cohen and Stormy's prior lawyer are another matter.

I thought the tapping of his phone(s) by pen register (?) was relatively recent, over the past several months. It might not go back as far as before the election.

Avenatti said he is vetting the names of two more women who signed NDA's with Trump. Does anyone care to guess the name of the attorney who represented them? I know whom I would guess.

Apparently, a talent agency is trying to pitch a Crossfire reboot starring Avenatti and - wait for it - the Mooch. And that's all I have to say about that.

I had dinner with several colleagues last night. I asked them to give me their impressions of Michael Avenatti in 3 words or less. It wasn't pretty. But it was well-deserved. One of them cheated. He hyphenated "media-whore" to get in two other descriptors.

Well, look at the bright side. If Avenatti gets a TV show he'll be confined to one network and an hour a day (or week). And he's less likely to fuck with the Mueller investigation.

I think he can cause damage to Mueller there too, also. Plus interviews for magazines and podcasts.

:brickwallsmall: You're right. I didn't think it through.

He's going to have to come up with some new clients soon. Stormy is turning into light rain.

He said he had at least two in the pipe. He hinted to Colbert there were more than 10 possibles.

I have my doubts about Avenatti. But for the SARs leak he would have had nothing for the last two weeks.
