I humbly propose the creation of the verb "to underbus" as using forms of the phrase "to be thrown under the bus" is simply too unwieldy, long and nettlesome to be workable in what promises to be a season of intense and constant underbusing. cc: @MerriamWebster

Should be. Bus - bussed (past tense) · bussed (past participle).

Trump is now claiming that he "hardly knows" Sondland. No biggie. The guy only gave him a million bucks is all.

And there it is. Sondland best be wary of open windows.

Apparently now they've rented a fleet of buses.

Just incredible.

To shield Trump, House Republicans plan to argue that Giuliani, Sondland, and Mulvaney may have acted on their own to pressure Ukraine, @karoun and @rachaelmbade report:

But this is *demonstrable* nonsense. See this piece and thread:

Tossing Mulvaney under the bus seems like it might backfire.

Bused and bussed are both fine in scrabbleland.

Only bussed is underlined in red in fogbowland.

This is a big pickle.

My guess is a single 's' for US, 'ss' for everyone else. Like canceled versus cancelled.

If it's in ALL CAPS it's a straw bus, I know that much. Probably wouldn't be so bad, getting throwed under a straw bus. :towel:

Is a straw bus similar to a hay wagon?

I always thought that was cute and all, and really would have liked to have seen it, but kept wondering what they thought it was going to run on. The roads of that era were well crap at best, there was NO real E-W highway of the time, and that thing moving at then train speed would have been terrifying, not to mention trying to land on the thing, they had only barely figured out aircraft carriers by that point and I don't think anything short of a gyrocopter could possibly land on it, and at speed probably not. Ah techno schience fiction of the 20-30's.

As to Mulvaney, when has LaRumo EVER done the smart thing????? When, ever???????

Wouldn't that actually entail like a sail and steam power or maybe a hot air balloon or hydrogen blimp???????

I was thinking about landing a fixed wing on it. If it was moving at about 45 MPH relative to the wind, you could set a Cessna down on it almost like a helicopter. The bus moving at the stall speed would pretty cool but you'd have to hit the brakes right away to keep the plane down.
