Just going on memory, (so take that into consideration) but wasn't there a time when Mexico bought a lot of grain from us for their beer production? Also thought I read something about them switching to Brazil and Argentina for a lot of it because trump was being an asshole.

I should probably follow up on that.

I don't know where to put this (overwhelming # of topics):

https://www.navytimes.com/news/your-nav ... asp-visit/
The Navy says it is reviewing whether service members violated Defense Department policy or regulations by wearing a uniform patch with the words “Make Aircrews Great Again” during President Donald Trump’s visit to their ship in Japan.
I find the politicizing a horror, but most of the commenters are "meh." The patch also had a likeness of Trump, albeit a Trump who weighs 185 pounds.

This wording was interesting:
In a brief statement Tuesday, the Navy said only that the matter was under review by Navy leadership to ensure that the wearing of the patches did not violate policy or regulations.
So . . . not so much to determine if it did or didn't, but to support the idea it didn't.

Trump Defiles ‘Freedom of Speech’ in a Bizarre Defense of His White Nationalist Supporters
Posted by Mark NC on June 9, 2019 at 11:54 am

(It's a pretty short article, a response to one of Trump's Sunday morning tweets. Here is the conclusion, though. The guys nails the irony in Trump's "First Amendment" complaint.)
Once again, Trump needs a lesson on the Constitution. The freedom of speech that is protected by the First Amendment is a prohibition imposed on the government. Private businesses can set their own rules, and do so in their terms of service. But there is a disturbing irony in Trump complaining about these repulsively violent StormTrumpers being suppressed while he is openly trying to destroy any media outlet that dares to criticize him. That is actually a breach of the First Amendment because he is the head of the government. Just last week he called for a boycott of CNN’s parent company, AT&T, in order to punish the news network for reporting on what Trump actually does and says. It is unprecedented for a U.S. president to push for a boycott of an American company with more than 250,000 employees.

I'm not sure where to put this, so I'll just drop it here. I live in a blue state, but with a hefty republican contingent in certain parts of the state. Sunday morning I was at a coffee shop and seated near a group of two older men and an older woman. At one point, their conversation turned to politics. I didn't hear all of it, but both the men stated very clearly that they'd been republican for decades, but no more. They both essentially said "This is the best they can do, which is abhorrent, and I will never vote republican again." Now, this could mean any of a variety of things, but the part I caught indicated they were talking about trump being abhorrent.

I hope this is a good sign.

Good Omens. Maybe.

It's going to come down to who the Democrats choose as their nominee. I'm going to say it again and I know some here may be offended, but the DNC botched 2016 because they promised Hilary a free ride in 2008 for a later election to get her to concede to Obama during that fight -- and essentially forcing us to pick from Trump or Hilary in the 2016 general election. It's wasn't "her turn", "if not now, when", "glass ceilings". She has baggage from her career, much of it undeserved.

I love Hilary, but she was the wrong candidate. And yes, she won the popular vote but not in the states that matter.

My advice, knock the crap off. Nominate someone with a relatively clean slate. There are 23(?) announced candidates on the Democratic side. Nice, but pick the best. Democrats need to get their act together or Trump will have another four years.
To which Trump replied, Fuck the law. I don't give a fuck about the law. I want my fucking money.

There is no such thing in this environment as a clean slate. No matter who the candidate is, there will be lies and altered videos. The msm will both sides everything. Whoever the candidate is, we need to rally and support her or him.

Trump is really a super-bully. He now threatens China with additional tariffs if their President won't attended the coming G-20.

Did he forget to pay the lawn mower boy for watering the tree (not a 2nd Amendment threat :!: )
Macron says 'no big drama' after oak tree gifted to Trump dies, will send replacement
By Lukas Mikelionis | Fox News

French President Emmanuel Macron pledged to send a new oak tree to President Trump after the original one he gave to Trump during a White House visit last year died.

Macron told Swiss television RTS that the demise of the tree shouldn’t be viewed as an analogy of the relationship between France and the U.S.

“It’s no big drama,” Macron said. “The symbol was to plant it together.”

He then promised to send another oak from the Belleau Wood in northern France, where more than 1,800 American soldiers died in a key World War I battle in 1918.

Trump and the French president planted the oak tree in the White House’s gardens in April 2018 as a sign of friendship.

Future presidents will know who mismanaged their air transport
Trump reveals historic redesign of Air Force One: EXCLUSIVE
By LUCIEN BRUGGEMAN Jun 13, 2019, 6:38 AM ET

Less than a year after announcing a $3.9 billion makeover for America's most famous aircraft, President Donald Trump shared never-before-seen images of Air Force One's prospective redesign on Wednesday during an exclusive interview with ABC News.

"George, take a look at this," Trump boasted to ABC News Chief Anchor George Stephanopoulos, as he flashed mock-ups of his vision for the next generation of the presidential aircraft. "Here's your new Air Force One."

The president was meeting with pilots from Air Force One as part of a prescheduled meeting on Wednesday.

During that meeting, the president pulled out the new images of the next Air Force One, which he has been personally involved in designing.

Last July, Trump announced his intention to revamp the design of the aging fleet. But on Wednesday, during an exclusive interview with ABC News, Trump showed his plan to swap the iconic sky blue-and-white paint job for a patriotic red, white and blue.

"We had different choices, here," Trump said, pointing to images he said he designed himself. "These are all slightly different."

How much cheaper will he get it after haggling with Boeing?
