continuing with the discussion re: El Paso hospital visit :?
Scaramucci says trip to El Paso hospital a 'catastrophe' for Trump

Former White House Communications Director Anthony Scaramucci called President Trump’s visit at an El Paso hospital this week to visit with the survivors of a mass shooting a “catastrophe.”

“So, look, the president didn’t do well on the trip. He probably would be mad at somebody for saying that,” he said on MSNBC Thursday.

“Maybe he’ll tweet something negative about somebody for saying he didn’t do well, but the facts are he did not do well on the trip because if the trip is being made about him and not the demonstration of compassion and love and caring and empathy for those people, then it becomes a catastrophe for him, the administration, and it’s also a bad reflection on the country.”
.............................
Scaramucci has broken with his former boss in the past, saying in July Trump was “turning into” a racist.

But Anchondo rejected that criticism, telling NPR that his family members are Republican conservatives, and his brother “was very supportive of Trump.” Instead, Anchondo said that he wanted to “have a human-to-human talk” with the president, despite none of the eight currently hospitalized victims of the shooting reportedly agreeing to meet with Trump.

Incidentally the Mexican side of my family are Trumpophiles. They probably would have volunteered for the photo op too. It is frustrating.

And Anchondo didn’t seem to actually come up with an excuse for the thumbs up. Doesn’t seem like he understands that what people are objecting to is Trump being upbeat after a racially motivated mass murder incident.

Anchondo is as clueless as Trump. I think it goes with the territory.

‘Megalomaniacal, paranoid, and psychopathic’: Economist sounds the alarm on Trump’s ‘bottomless malevolence’
Economist Jeffrey Sachs, a professor of Health Policy and Management at Columbia University, has written a frightening warning about President Donald Trump’s “paranoid and psychopathic” leadership style, and he says it could have disastrous consequences for the world if he wins a second term.

In an essay published at progressive news website Common Dreams, Sachs argues that it would be a grave mistake to treat Trump like a cynical politician, when in reality he is an impulsive and vindictive narcissist who acts on his angry whims.

“The situation is far more dangerous,” Sachs explains. “Trump is mentally disordered: megalomaniacal, paranoid, and psychopathic. This is not name-calling. Trump’s mental condition leaves him unable to keep his word, control his animosities, and restrain his actions. He must be opposed, not appeased.”
:snippity:
“They should recognize that a significant majority of Americans also oppose Trump’s malignant narcissism and psychopathic behavior, which has unleashed a contagion of mass shootings and other hate crimes in the US,” he writes. “By opposing Trump and defending the international rule of law, including rules-based international trade, Europeans and Americans together can strengthen world peace and transatlantic amity for generations to come.”
I've heard this bull before.

What a moment.

President Trump on the WH lawn just looked up to the sky and said, “I am the chosen one.”

He was talking about the trade war with China and repeated his claim that he needs to take on China for unfair trading practice.

Beyond parody -- Trump says his solution to the epidemic of veteran suicides is some new "stimulant" produced by Johnson & Johnson that he's instructed the government to buy in large quantities
TRUMP’S PRAISE PUT DRUG FOR VETS ON FAST TRACK, BUT EXPERTS AREN’T SURE IT WORKS

https://publicintegrity.org/federal-pol ... -it-works/
But not everyone was convinced — far from it. The drug’s heightened profile has unleashed a storm of questions from academics, psychiatrists, and health researchers who have concerns about Spravato: how it was approved, how well it works, whether it is safe, how much it costs, and whether it’s right for veterans. The discussion has surfaced some unsettling concerns:

The FDA abandoned a longstanding procedure of requiring two successful short-term trials before approving anti-depression drugs. Instead, when this drug showed itself to be no better than placebo in two of three short-term trials, the FDA accepted the one successful trial, adding on another and different type of trial that some say was deeply flawed.

Even though the drug is being hurried into use by the VA, some psychiatrists and researchers say the evidence from trials does not demonstrate that the drug is effective on people over 65 — or possibly even on males. The VA’s patient population is 90 percent male and 52 percent over 65.

During several years of trials, six people who had been treated with the drug died, as opposed to none on placebos. Three of the deaths were suicides. The FDA said it was difficult to conclude that the deaths were caused by the drug. Still, noted one psychiatrist, “It’s not heading in the direction supporting protection from suicides.”

Trump Brags That Victims of Mass Shootings ‘Love’ Him: ‘They Love Their President’

“The people that were so badly injured that I was with, they love our country. And frankly, do you want to know the truth? They love their president. And nobody wrote that. Nobody wrote that. Because you didn’t write the truth. New York Times doesn’t like to write the truth. They totally love our country and they do love our president. So when I went to Dayton, when I went to El Paso, and when I went into those hospitals, the love for me, and me maybe as a representative of the country, but for me, and my love for them, was unparalleled. If you read the papers, it was like nobody would meet with me. Not only did they meet with me, they were pouring out of the rooms. The doctors were coming out of the operating rooms. There were hundreds and hundreds of people all over the floor, you couldn’t even walk on it.”
I don't know about you guys, but if I was being operated on, and my surgeon left the OR to greet trump, he'd never be my surgeon again.

And, no, I don't believe that actually happened.

Yes, they love him so much that none of the admitted hospital patients in El Paso wanted wanted to see him.

Trump announces that he's signing a memorandum forgiving the student debt of every veteran who is "completely and permanently disabled." He then says "incredible" as though he just heard about it for the first time.
If by "completely" he means 100% disabled then most disabled veterans won't qualify.

Doesn't dotus have three FL men, members of his night-Mar-a-lago circle, as Vet affairs advisers with link to the medical industry? Hoe else would he know about this drug?

I wanna know how many people are eligible for this and have outstanding student loans. A few thousand, maybe? Less?

Isn't 100% disability one of the ways to have a student loan forgiven anyway?
