So, is everyone on pins and needles hoping we don't get a repeat?

My sympathy for the loss of your brother to conspiracy and patriot theory. Your point about minimization is a valid one which I shall take to heart. I have preached minimization in domestic abuse situations and in Trumpian situations, but failed to apply it to the "patriot" movement. Thank you.

Thanks, TRL. My brother was more of the keyboard-participant variety of conspiracy theorist, but he was a true believer and extraordinarily distrustful of the government. I think if he had been younger, and in better health, he may well have participated in some of the things that a lot of the people we talk about have done. I'm thankful that he didn't, and I think it is very helpful to remember that there are ordinary people like us who have family members who go off the rails.
The family member I speak of, to the regret of our entire extended family, has participated willingly, and now is receiving judgement for his actions.

Justice has been served. My family's heart is heavy but we understand and agree with the verdicts.

My WAG, one or two not guilty holdouts.

On the video the guy reading the verdicts said the judge gave an Allen charge to the jury.

Yes. They call it the "Hammer Instruction" in state court here.

Basically telling the jury to get back in there and come to a verdict because we don't want to have to do this again [you stubborn lazy bastards].

Also known as the "dynamite charge".

It seems to me this jury (or at least some of them) need to hear the defendants actually SAY they intended for something to happen. I can't even express how frikken stoopid that sounds to me. At this point I don't think I even want to hear the rest of the verdicts, if there are any.

The problem is that it's more likely that people who think they are guilty will change their minds than people who are gunning for not guilty.

What happens if the jury comes back in a couple of hours, still deadlocked? Is there some amount of time the judge will expect them to deliberate? How many times may a judge send a jury back into deliberations?

After all these days of deliberation, to me it seems unlikely that this jury will be able to agree on the rest of the charges. But if the jury just wants to finish it, I think we'll see a whole bunch of not guilty verdicts. I base that conclusion on nothing whatsoever except extremely reduced expectations.
